Wii U already lets you watch Spankwire and Xvideo through the browser for free :p Though to be fair, I think any console with a browser does.
Yeah, TNAflix has a custom site for PS3 browsers. The sang still holds, "only a fool pays for porn online."

As usual, no links will be provided.
...But if you can't figure it out from the big headliner image with the site's url spelled out on the bottom, you shouldn't be accessing pornography anyway.

Or allowed to handle sharp objects.

Or possibly any object large enough to clog your breathing passages.

Annnnyway... I don't think the availability of porn is really enough to make up for the alleged (but increasingly likely-sounding) inability to play used games.

I still have no idea why people pay for porn, but as to why there's no controversy, the public seems to think that if a game is on shelves, you should make it expecting 8 year olds to play it due to a mix of terrible parenting and a blind shop assistant. Which is blatantly not the case, they have age ratings. Just because people ignore them all the time doesn't mean developers should have to act like they aren't there. A porn streaming service is also optional, age-restricted and paid, but doesn't have the same stupid expectation that 8 year olds will be using it regardless.

And a microphone. 8-|

George Orwell would be horrified, I'm sure. He just thought the threat was the government, not corporations.
Unlike Winston Smith we actually have a choice as to whether or not we install such a device in our homes. But this whole thing does certainly make ol' George's views all the more poignant.

OT: As much as I appreciate the joyful convenience of porn at your fingertips (lol pun intended) I don't really want it on my video game consoles. In fact I don't want anything on my video game consoles except the ability to play small shiny discs with interactive software on them. God damn...
The thing that creeps me out is, how long before we *don't* have a choice? Not out of direct compulsion, but rather having no alternative but to live a Luddite's existence? For instance, show me a laptop or cell phone that doesn't have a camera and a microphone in it somewhere. And how often does one cover that camera, or turn off that microphone?

A lot fewer than I'm comfortable with, I'd wager.

It's that illusion of choice that makes society complacent, I think.

Now we know what the new console will be called.

The XXXBox.

Also a nice double meaning (oo-er) seeing as it's the third console.

Certainly they're never going to win significant public (or political) support in the same way other branches of the entertainment industry can, but some studios/sites are quite active in getting their content removed from streaming sites and trackers. I recall at least a few sites that had a prohibited list, of content that couldn't be uploaded, presumably the result of some agreement (or threat of legal action, or both.)

I guess the adult industry also benefits from production costs that are miniscule compared to the film, music or games industry. They don't have to make nearly as much money back to cover their costs before they're into profit.

I'm enraged, personally. Who are the people who still pay for porn let alone on their console? Savages.

Not because it should be an issue, but considering PG13 sex scenes in games cause such outrage half of the time, I'd expect the "angry ignorant parent" collective to be causing a fuss and claiming that console developers are trying to sell porn to kids.
The Xbox has become more of a "media" device now what with plenty of people using it to stream movies and what not. I'd go as far as to say that some people might actually just use it instead of cable/satellite. With that in mind it's not too far a step for them to take as it would be the equivalent of having those adult oriented pay-per-view channels.

To be serious about it for a moment (seriously, guys) the porn industry is facing piracy challenges of the sort that would give videogame executives nightmares. The content is widely available, even to people who don't know anything more than how to launch their browser, there's virtually nothing to differentiate it ("Scale Bustin' Babes 41" is a real title, by the way, and I doubt very much that anyone could convince me it's meaningfully different from Big Naturals 18) and almost none of us "need" a particular title or series anyway, and perhaps worst of all, there's no real interest in fighting to protect porn copyrights, because hey, it's porn. You may get indignant because people are ripping off the latest creative endeavour by Irrational or Bungie or Mojang, but how many people are really going to stand up and express outrage because the makers of "10 Man Cum Slam" aren't getting paid? Very few, I suspect.

(And yes, that is a real title too.)
Now now my good sir, I believe Scale Bustin Babes showcases larger to BBW women, while Big Naturals is for "regular" (no offence to anyone who may feel so by that) sized women with large breasts!

But yeah it is a bit of a bad case really, they don't get the kind of defence other mediums get because like you say, it's porn. But the people still do their bit and deserve to get paid for it. And some of them really do put quite a lot of effort in, Axl Brauns Dark Knight Stuff gets a special mention because the outfits were actually better than the ones in the movies(Catwoman /looked/ like Catwoman for a start and Batmans outfit was pretty sweet). And he filmed the climax of "The Killing Joke" complete with a genuinely terrifying Joker. But then you're right even after saying that, I'm still not likely to stand in defence of porn either because it would make me a massive hypocrite.

It's just that porn occupies that bit of our brain, subconscious or not where nobody really gives a damn at all because everyone involved is dehumanized to the point of critical mass.

Well yeah, but that /does/ sound pretty paranoid, I'm pretty sure the government aren't spying on me through my webcam. Scrap that, I'm sure they're not. I mean seriously, the amount of man power they'd need to monitor is absolutely ludicrous, when at the end of the day the most noteworthy thing they're going to see is me having a shifty.

I really want to facepalm, but under the circumstances I shouldn't put my hand near my head.

Microsoft: finally supporting single-player.

NextBox: Redefining gamer girls.

Microsoft releases new form of motion-controlled entertainment.

Microsoft: no longer living up to its name.

That's all folks...

Honestly are there still people that pay for porn?! And I don't mean piracy, it's free everywhere any time.

I love that when a new technology comes out one of the first things we do is put porn on it.

Hang on so the majority of people on this site jump to the defense of devs and publishers when it comes to pirating pretty much any medium, but when it comes to porn it's okay because it's porn? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't streaming porn free from whatever site you're using still illegal because it's a form of public distribution? Doesn't that make it a form of piracy even if you aren't just downloading it?

I think most consoles avoid the adult content because even though their "target audience" is the median male, they still don't want to have the parents hassling them about sex issues. They mash the hot button way more than the violence, for some reason.

Honey, is there something you are not telling me? Notice your significant other in a video.
I need to use the parental lock *facepalm* you have children in a close vicinity to the Xbox.
