You are right, but that doesn't stop the Suchong tribe from going after Ryu like a Zerg rushZachary Amaranth said:As far as Erin knows, there's only Suchong.
I'm not sure they can risk a thinning of the herd. What if "Suchong" is sick again?Sewa_Yunga said:You are right, but that doesn't stop the Suchong tribe from going after Ryu like a Zerg rush
That pound cake must have been very difficult to carry into this thread. Here, I shall contemplate the meaning of this deep (dumpster deep) iteration of C.M. (and how a homeless man maintains such a physique) while you listen to someDaystar Clarion said:[HEADING=1]I want some poooooound cake![/HEADING]
Silly Street Fighter, that's not a thing you do.
There are but they are largely isolated to movies/etc, the games themselves do a terrible job of storytelling. At least Tekken tried to have a story. In case of Ryu, a lot of his personal story is based around defeating the primary antagonists like Sagat, M.Bison and finally Seth.ThunderCavalier said:There aren't a lot of backstories for fighters beyond "They fight because why the fuck not." is there?
Goku thought marriage was a food and entered into an arrangement he had no actual understanding of. Because he's a good man, he went through with it AND there are only so many women who would put up with a man like him. Ryu on the other hand has more than two brain cells to rub together: there are plenty of ways a man as physically fit and able as Ryu could find 'off the books' work that pays in cash (unskilled labour in construction) or services (deckhand or other scut work on a cargo ship).Yuuki said:There are but they are largely isolated to movies/etc, the games themselves do a terrible job of storytelling. The SF2 movie (the only good one as far as most fans are concerned) is the one where we get an insight into Ryu's "idle" life. He wonders the world (barefoot like a real man), gets his money from street fights (duh?) and/or doing people favors and helping the weak. That's...about it
Also Sakura keeps running all over the place blurting "Where's Ryu? Anyone seen Ryu? I'm looking for Ryu!" in her cute little school uniform.
Ryu is comparable to Goku in the sense that he doesn't really live for any other reason than to seek friendly fights, never kill (or even seriously wound) anyone and keep getting stronger...but at least Goku had the balls to settle down with a woman and have kids -_-
Well, they don't have to go after Ryu with their whole tribe... And they can attack him while he sleeps to keep their losses as low as possibleZachary Amaranth said:I'm not sure they can risk a thinning of the herd. What if "Suchong" is sick again?
Captcha: Yadda Yadda Yadda.
Even Captcha is bored with me.
What about a body guard? Or a martial art instructor?DaViller said:Theres gotta be some way for him to turn throwing fireballs out of his hands into a cash source. I mean once you can put that on your resumee your pretty much set for life.
I think that ryu is just the type who isn't realy creative outside his field of expertise. He may be able to dislocate your shoulder while breaking your arm in three points within a second, but he just can't think of ways to put such abilitys to practical use.
Don't most professional athletes make a majority of their money from product endorsements?WhiteRat07 said:I always assumed Ryu was a professional fighter. Like tourney winnings were his paycheck.
Yes, loose your interest across the world!Revolutionary said:Oh are we back to Erin's visions? Oh good I was loosing interest.
Most professional athletes have expenses to pay which Ryu doesn't. Even a small tournament would provide enough money for a plane ticket, a few nights in a cheap hotel and his meals. Then it's off to the next fight. Ryu doesn't even need to use training facilities as he makes his own. You would be surprised how far $1000 will go when you live as a nomad.Pogilrup said:Don't most professional athletes make a majority of their money from product endorsements?WhiteRat07 said:I always assumed Ryu was a professional fighter. Wait, wasn't Blanka working in power plant or something?Arawn said:Now that I think about it, he is the few Street Fighters that doesn't have a job. Chun Li is a cop, Ken a rich kid, Viper also a cop, etc. Other than him I think Blanka doesn't have anything else on the side when not fighting.
