Since you asked, no I don't find it attractive at all. But it's your ears, so do what you want to them.
That's the problem with "in the future" though, in 20 years the pendulum could swing the other way it might hinder your career/job prospects.Wickatricka said:Most employers (at least in a professional environment) don't mind. So what are your thoughts on the subject?
Oh god I google-imaged it. Ugh. The whole concept just makes me squeamish.Neverhoodian said:Wait, WHAT?! That's a thing now?! Can someone explain this to me, because I can't fathom why anyone in their right mind would do such a thing. I can understand sex change operations and the like, but why go to such an extreme as mutilating your junk for fashion?! It's not like you're going to be able to show it off to the public (at least I hope not), and I doubt they'd be impressed if you did.Frezzato said:I believe the last thing he did was split his penis. Maybe he was tired of having to choose whether he wanted to "dress" to the right or to the left, so he chose both.Neverhoodian said:Wait, WHAT?! That's a thing now?! pretty much hit the nail on the head for what I was going to say.Summerstorm said:Ewww... I don't like it
But i also don't like Tattoos, Branding, Piercings and makeup on people - so i am not the targeted group i guess.
It's mostly sexual though - No problem with all of the above on friends, coworkers and such. But all of these are pretty much a "Boner-killer" (sorry for that) for me.
But what i learned when you do something is: Don't care too much of what other people's opinion is on something you are doing (In Moderation... if all your friends are screaming: NONONONO, please don't do THAT, we beg you... they might be unto something)
Care about how YOU feel with it (Factor in how it feels for you when other people react to it.)
Yeah. Whether or not it's explicitly stated, some industries are still far more conservative than others.Ratty said:That's the problem with "in the future" though, in 20 years the pendulum could swing the other way it might hinder your career/job prospects.Wickatricka said:Most employers (at least in a professional environment) don't mind. Don't like'em personally but that's me.
Pretentiousness? In what way is it pretentious? It has the same logic behind it as tattoos, piercing and fashion in general. Some people just like what it looks like and don't care if it's practical or not. I don't like it but not going to randomly get angry at them for some stupid statement I'm assuming they are making.Mr.Tea said:I understand (some) tattoos; they can be downright beautiful.
I understand (some) piercings; subtlety and tastefulness are the name of the game for me. Unfortunately, it's the complete opposite for most people who get them.
But when it comes to stretched ears, it gets so utterly preposterous that it becomes actively repulsive to me. The sheer stupidity, ugliness and pretentiousness of it sets off every anger circuit I have and I get the (controllable) urge to punch the idiots who wear them and pull their stupid fucking stretchers out until their earlobes tear.
I just cannot think of any logic for it and cannot take anyone who does that shit seriously.
This is what it looks like to me:
