These. It's especially annoying when I play on the PS3. Apparently, Killzone is the gay because it's on the PS3 and everyone knows that only the good games are on Xbox durr.... (I know the Xbox has good games, and I enjoy playing on it. I like the PS3 better, they both have good games. Some fanboys (on both sides) can't acknowledge that)omega_peaches said:
Another one is "it's not shiny enough." I'm serious. I was playing MAG and a friend who had just come over said that it must suck because it isn't shiny enough. I then asked him what was "shiny enough." He thought about it shrugged, and joined me in LBP, where I proceeded to slap him every time he tried to make a challenging jump.
And really, we need blood/violence/tits in every game? Then those wouldn't be "edgy" or "cool" anymore.

Good thing Pac-Man is free of this train of thought. In Pac and Pal, there was a gun power-up. Every other power-up had to be shot as well. Graphics, a game should be judged by how it plays not how it looks i.e. Starcraft or Red Alert 2, their really good games but compared to todays graphics don't look so smooth. If the games came out now looking like they do, you'd get the "graphics are important" club saying they were rubbish because they are "ugly"

While I will grant that if every reviewer all say the game is complete and utter garbage, that is one thing. But if, say one specific reviewer gives it a 2 out of 5 stars, that doesn't mean you should instantly discount the game. Reviewers, for the most part, write to the mainstream gamer. Your average gamer might not appreciate a game's length, complexity or anal attention to detail (like a super-realistic war sim) but there are some gamers for whom those 'flaws' are shining stars.
The most important thing is to know what you like, then read the reviews and see if the things that you like are done well or poorly (or are even present at all)

I hate it when I hear "Because the control sucks" on a PC game. Most of the time on a PC game you can change the controls.
Being at the other end of that spectrum(being a musician who don't like the Hero series), I can say that most oftenly it's musicians being tired of the over-inflated Guitar Hero players going "Oh man, I can play -insert song name- on expert! I'm so hardcore!", when the musicians can play those songs in real life, but even still, the (Non-)Guitar Heros consider themself superior to the musicians.Chrono180 said:
