Stupidest reason to shoot down a game

Super cool people swim into a wall, press autorun and leave overnight. But yeah, stupid reason for not liking the best sandbox RPG I've ever played.

OP: My friend didn't get the orange box because "he already had Portal". I mean...what? The Portal is good but Half Life 2 + Episodes and Team Fortress 2 are more than worth £16.

For me the biggest bullshit excuse to hate a game is when it exceeds at something that was intended to be. I.E. Horror games are "too scary" massive combat blood spewing action is "too violent" and other such just make me rage.

Lack of characterization.

I've heard this one said many a time about one game in particular, half life 2, and it's all because Gordon Freeman doesn't talk *Gasp*. Really? Fun gameplay, unique world, characters that more than make up for this and you shoot down half life 2 because Gordon Freeman doesn't have strong motives (Or more chiefly) talk? So what if I might as well be a floating pair of hands, Gordon Freeman is one of the most recognisable characters of gaming and there are many protagonists that don't talk in games (Most RPG's, Bioshock, system shock 2, portal) and if he were to speak I can guarantee the game would not have been better if we had to hear Mr Freeman make a smart-ass quip every time he blew things up or grumble like a badass whenever Dr Breen threatened Alyx Vance.

Oh yes and a friend of mine thought Alan Wake needed multiplayer and didn't buy it because of that one reason.

I am going with graphics aswell.

Not in the way you think, I like realism but I don't care if all the trees look like there from a PSX game. For example I never bought boarderlands 'cos of it's "artitic" style, I just find it unpleasant to look at and comes off as slightly lazy.

Friend: So what was your favorite part of it?
Me: Seeing Goldeneye, I'll finally get to play it on the wii!
Friend: It's gonna suck.
Me: Why?
Friend: The graphics suck, and it's on the wii.

Friend: To me, graphics are the most important part of a game, and the Wii probably couldn't even run Halo 3!

Your stupid reasons?

with all this about graphics and most people seeming to think that either they don't matter at all or its the main factor in the game. I feel that a games with better graphics have better immersion rather than ones with lower graphics, which personally is one of my key points to if I like a game.
Good graphics are nice and greatly add to a game but they aren't the be all and end all.

OT: because a game (world in conflict) have to many options in multilayer?
