Morrowind: The movement speed is too slow.

...what? You get faster as you go along!

If you really want to go quickly, jump everywhere. That's what all the cool people do :D
Huzzah, I'm cool!

My brother hates Morrowind because 'Oblivion looks better and it has a better game world'.
The second point is raw bullshit.
Well...its the same game world, and two...Koguti and Ogrim...or goblins and deer?
Oblivion is set in Cyrodiil, which is basically just 16 square kilometres of grass, trees, deer and wolves. Morrowind is set in Morrowin (wowie), which is a MUCH more varied and interesting place. It's got marshes, ashlands, a huge-ass volcano, plains, the weird mushroom-plant-thingies that are everywhere in the Telvanni areas... basically, a hell of alot more stuff.

Yeah, they're pretty damn different xD

EDIT: Whoa, my next post is 3000! What should I do to celebrate?
The person with a Morrowind avatar probably know better... But wasn't Morrowind set in Vvardenfell?

Me and my best friend:
Me: "You should really try deux ex, it's awesome!"
Bf: "I don't play fps because all you do is shoot people to get more weapons to shoot people."
Me: "Don't you love racing games?"
Bf: "Yeah, what's your point?"
Me: "You race to earn money and new cars!"
Bf: "You are gay

"You can't relate to the characters" really? who really gives a fuck about that? There is no game where you can really relate to a character....unless it's the sims
I think you are confusing being related (family) to relate (have empathy for, find common ground in a struggle)

There are plenty of games where you can relate to (empathize) with the characters.

Not many you can feel related to.
Oh no, I mean relate, I mean, you can't feel anything for someone in a apocalyptic wasteland because you've never been in one, same thing with all games

This is depressing considering Deus Ex is quite possibly the greatest game of all time.

You are right, but, when someone dies in a game you can relate to the character if you have had someone close to you die etc... Such as in mass effect 1 or 2.

If I were emo I could say "yes I can relate, my life is a teenage apocalyptic wasteland man, im gonna go cut myself and listen to bands you have never heard of"

I guess graphics and the console it's on are dumb reasons... but the worst is this conversation I had with a friend:

"Left 4 Dead is great. You should play it."
"No, it's just mindlessly killing zombies."
"Well, isn't Modern Warfare 2 mindlessly killing people?"
"But the pistols on Left 4 Dead have infinite ammo... like that's realistic."

We're talking about a zombie game and he's complaining about realism while he plays Modern Warfare 2 with the dual shotguns...

"I played the first five minutes, found it boring so I never tried it again." Well, that is certainly giving the game proper chance.

"The graphics suck." This has been covered enough already.

"It's too mainstream/popular." Right, because things go from good to bad as soon as a certain amount of people like them. On the other hand, it works both ways. Occasionally you will come across people who won't go near a game because it isn't mainstream/popular enough. Either way you slice it, I've always found a game's popularity level to be a silly indication of it's quality.

"The characters aren't manly/sexy enough." Oh dear...

"It's Japanese, therefore it will be too weird." Keeping an open mind I see.

"You can't show your gear to other people." I heard one bloke use this as a reason not to pick up Dragon Age: Origins. Some people are all about that precious e-peen I guess.

so, I once heard this:

me: yo, checked out the new Metal Gear coming out for the ps3?
him: yeah, it's gonna suck galactical godzilla balls
me: what? why?
him: well, first, the main character is OLD as shit, the game looks too slow to even be interesting, you have to HIDE from the enemies instead of shooting them asses off, you dont get to kill people with chainsaws, and you dont go straight up killing enemies since you start. Besides, it's on PS3
me: what the hell dude, you do know Metal Gear series is based on hiding from enemies, right? and that there's a whole genre based on hiding from enemies, right? besides, what's wrong with the PS3
him: it's a big black grill
me: would you kindly fuck off?

Well, the way it said just sounded to me as if they mean its not the same existance. Its not like FF where there its completly different universes or whatever. But if not for that invisible wall, you could walk to Morrowind if you go east enough. (mainland morrowind)

It was. Vvardenfell is a district in the province of Morrowind xD
There's a mod called Tamriel Rebuilt that's making the rest of Morrowind, but it's entirely third-party, so it doesn't exactly adhere to the rules... it's still awesome.

Ah, that makes sense.
Now, on to download the mod and install Morrowind once again!

EDIT: Oh wait, you said it isn't finished yet. Nevertheless, now to install Morrowind once again! It's been too long since I've played it.

This is unfailure idea, IMO Tamriel Rebuilt outdoes Bethesda's work... o_O
(except bloodmoon, obviously)
