I actually can see why that would turn a player off of the game and still not be racist. If we want the games to be immersive and a way to live vicariously through the protagonist, it can take a person out of said immersion if your avatar doesn't match the player. I've always thought that games like GTA should have all races available to use and male and female skins. It's just a small thing but can lead to much more immersion. I understand that it makes it a bit tougher for spoken dialogue, but in the long run I think the efforts would be worth it.zombiejoe said:

Ugh, people who "protest" a game's DRM scheme, a la Starcraft 2 or any Steam-based game. It's like the fact that the developers are trying to protect themselves from pirates somehow makes the game inferior. The strange thing is that most of the games that they "protest" against are some of the greatest games that one can play... their loss.

Graphics aren't like the box art, etc, or expecting more then a game actually gives you
Too many ppl, are conditioned to games like MW2 and forget for them to have their shiny new war simulator fps, which manages to teach kids that you can apparantly fire 2 smgs at once without dislocating your shoulders, older more interesting games came before it.
Or just general, new gamers or kids raving on about the shiny game of the season and making inane comparisions - theres a reason why Counter-Strike has been constantly played since the beta release with HL 1 after all -so many games will be 6 month successes and fade away completely

It's in 1st person! There are many valid reasons to hate mirrors edge (even tho I still love it) but that is not one of them.
"the controls don't work properly/ are unresponsive" Occasionally this might be true and is a good reason to dislike a game(tho the only problem like that I can remember having was low mouse sensitivity and it could be changed anyway) but almost every time someone says this its actually because they just suck arse and are trying to pretend that it's the games fault not that they are doing it wrong. You can dislike like a game for being too hard, just admit that rather than making BS excuses.
Then there is also "It's unrealistic" and my personal all time favourite "the installation screen was boring"... I wish I was kidding but I have actually heard someone say that. Who watches a game install anyway? Sometimes games might have concept art come up while it installs and then I might watch but it's hardly a main feature.

With respect, how the hell can you like Metal Slug more than Half Life? Metal Slug is awesome, but a mere puppy in comparison with the big dog that is Half Life.

Oblivion is set in Cyrodiil, which is basically just 16 square kilometres of grass, trees, deer and wolves. Morrowind is set in Morrowin (wowie), which is a MUCH more varied and interesting place.
