How nice of you to join us.

Isaac listenned patiently to Vraaf. Although he came off fairly condescending, Isaac hardly cared. He'd been chewed out before.

"...it's a hell of a lot harder to earn respect then it is to lose it."

"It is indeed sir." Isaac responded. "I know you probably think I'm just some prankster asshole with a degree. That I've never had to treat anything serious. But you would be wrong sir. Back home, my village was attacked by insectus Gigatanus Dominatus, although you probably know them by their common name: The Screeching Mantis" The screeching mantis had become renouned as a myth throughotu the galaxy; something you tell your children about to keep them from getting out of bed or wandering into the woods alone. Everybody had an idea what they looked like: About the size of a truck, very similar to the "Acklay" depicted in some old Sci-fi movie know as Star Wars. What few people knew was that the Screeching Mantis was real and that it was native to Black Death. "It was a dark night, around my 16th Birthday. I heard a loud screech, and it woke my up. The rest happenned in a blur. I remember going to the hospital, where I had to operate on some of the people attacked by the damn things. My own brother had been outside that night, and he had been torn up pretty badly. I tried so hard, but I couldn't save him." Isaac was silent for a moment, letting it sink in. Then he smiled. "But thats life on Black Death. I loved my brother...Like a brother. But people die. Medicine is good, but every dies eventualy. It's my job to save those who can still be saved."

When the rest of the team walked in, and Isaac saw most of them for the first time. He already reconized Regrel, but the rest he hadn't met. From what he could tell it was a fairly ballenced squad. While the two Nazar talked, Isaac looked over to Regrel. "Ah, Regrel, nice to see you again." He said with a smirk.

When the captain turned on the image viewer, Isaac was surprised, but not horrified. He'd seen shit like this before. "So I assume were taking this guy out?" Isaac asked causualy.

Vfraar listened bemusedly as the medic began a story about his childhood. It was basically the same as any other childhood horror story, and in the Talonisk's mind didn't really give the man any more merit. By the time the monologue was finished, he had already switched his attention to the issue at hand, the unknown ship.

Saddened but still unperturbed by the gore that filled the viewing screen as it appeared, Vfraar instead looked sharply at Stevenson as the medic yet again made a rash decision. The mutant on the other end could hear and see them just as well as they could hear and see him, and although the newcomer clearly did not intend on being friendly, it was never a good idea to state out loud plans to attack someone, right in front of their face.

A loud cough got the biotic's attention, after which the old lizard man fixed him with an icy stare that basically said "shut the hell up". When Vfraar turned back to the vieiwng screen, a text transmission reading
Code:
"Prepare for assault, Captain?"
had appeared on it, for only them to see, sent from Vfraar's suit computer. There wasn't much chance that they could avoid combat now, but he may as well still ask.

I'm assuming he can hear and see us as well?

Nouw walked in and saw many other Sentinels, from his own Human Race to the Nazars. But after examining the others, he saw a horrific sight that in his mind, wasn't very horrific. Bodies over bodies, he saw it all before. It looks like they dropped some kind of freak bomb that used microbes to eat into flesh but only did half its job. The organs he had to admit was a bit much but he saw worse. It took him 1 minute to make out the Mutant that showed no difference at all to the corpses. He quickly thought of an insult he learnt in school

"You're so ugly, Hello kitty said Goodbye to you"

He'd love to say that but this just wasn't the time. After deleting that thought his usual, grim, dark side took over and thought of ways to kill him in a gory fashion.

After cracking his fingers he said "When do we start?" in a very low voice, so only a few people could hear and so no one could notice.

The mutant grinned as he looked at the group over the imaging, all of them remaining quiet for he knew. "Wow, I thought a bunch of fascists such as yourself would have some bullshit to spew, I guess the Sentinels are a little quieter then the people I'm using as a recliner right now." The cigar moved around the edges of the freaks mouth, following it was a dim orange glow the illuminated the shadows around it. "Anyway, I would love to stay and chat but I do have a ship to pilot. Don't worry though, I'll be seeing you in about one hour. Until then have fun in your ship, just like this one it ain't going to be around much longer."

The mutant slowly picked himself off his bloody seat, pushing himself into a standing position. Its arm began to glow blue as it aimed at the camera relying the image. "So until we are all suffocating in the cold void of space I bid you farewell." The mutants armed roared up with a blue fire as it let loose a quick burst of energy, the holograph faded down to nothing

Zeredare placed his head in his hands, rubbing his temples in attempt to relieve himself. He simply remained silent as he stared of into nothing, looking past the screens and walls in front of him. His mind raced with potential plans and strategies as his body seemed to freeze up.

[i/] Yep, I knew it [/i] Regrel thought as he watched the captain sit with his hands rubbing his forehead [i/] First sign of trouble and our new leader looses it. [/i] The Grel figured it was time to get these blinking idiots into some sort of action.

"If I may speak sir," Regrel began, breaking the silence "I'm going to go ahead and assume negotiation is not an option here. It's also too much to hope he's alone. I suggest we send down a few of us Sentinels and couple of the men in a stealth shuttle, try to take these freaks down quickly and quietly before they can cause anymore damage. I've seen my fare share of mutants sir. They have no sense strategy. They'll expect a direct attack, not a strategic one."

There were many times when Vfraar disagreed with Regrel, but few times when their usual opinions were switched completely around. In this case, Regrel was the one opting for a stealthy, strategic infiltration and counter attack, and Vfraar was the one opting for simply slamming plasma cannon rounds into the enemy ship till it was dead.

He looked at the Grel DE thoughtfully, then glanced around at the other Sentinels. With this batch of people it would be possible, but his mind was weighing the risks. They had no idea how many mutants were aboard the ship, or even what kind of ship it was. There just wasn't enough information for him to justify sending them on a boarding mission.

"Prepare for assault?" he asked the captain, who seemed not to have noticed the message he put up on the viewing screen. Zeredare nodded quickly, clearly deep in thought. Vfraar grunted, then sent a transmission out to the whole ship. "All combat personnel report to battle stations immediately, prepare for possible enemy assault and/or boarding. This is not a drill." The message then went on loop, eventually repeating six times.

Bringing up the 3D map of the Great White on his HUD, he checked to make sure his orders were being followed, and was pleased to see lots of little dots running frantically about and lots of little messages and stats appearing near the cannons and other weapons. "Alright, we'll be prepared." He said. "Now, about this plan. I'd like some more information on that ship before I send any of us onto it. What intel have we got?"
Question! Are we in the bridge or the captain's quarters? Or are they the same place?

Rezzea stepped forward.
"If I may Captain.."

She walked over to Vfraar who stood directly in front of the Captain's desk.

"One, a direct launch of plasma wouldn't suffice, if they're making themselves noticeable they have already found a way to power the shields to full power. And judging by their background story, they are preparing for a full-on assault, which means they will have men on their own guns. Even transport ships have defense systems and weapons, I'm guessing theirs is big"

Then she turned around and then back around.
"I suggest we board the ship, de-activate the shield's power source, and the gunners. Maybe we will be able to take out the Captain, if not, we will retreat back into the stealth shuttle and give you the signal to bombard the ship, not only will you have minor counter attacks, but their shields will be at 20, maybe 10% capability..."

She stopped for a moment to let the words sink in.
"And IF we have time, we may be able to take out the shield's backup generator and de-activate their hyber-drive, giving them no chance of defending themselves or retreating"
She slammed into the desk, turned her head towards the rest of them and smiled.
"They won't know what hit them"

The Grel glanced at the Nazar, his ears twitching in irritaition.

"Are you suggesting we sneak onto and take down both the gunners, hyper-drive, the ships power soarce [b/]and[/b] it's back up generator? How do you expect to do all this while still remaining undetected?"

He turned once again to the Captain "Sir, judging by the interior designs I would guess that was possibly a v3 Federation ship, maybe an even earlier model. The v3 series are known for using a cheap, poorly designed Nagorian hyper-drive plasma engine. Easy and cheap to make, but also highly explosive. Now, if we are discovered we could risk direct ship combat, something that's very lightly if were scowering the whole ship taking down every single god damn defence. If however you allowed us to enter the ship, arm an explosive to the engine and then get the hell out of their we could take out the whole ship without ever risking the Great White's defences. Obviously we must work out the model of the ship first but I'm almost certain I am right. The Federation have been pumping out v3's despite safty issues for years."

Vfraar looked down at the Nazar with an expressionless face. She sure is the confident one. Perhaps too confident, but I guess we'll see.

"The Great White has sufficient firepower and shields to destroy a v3 without catastrophic losses." he stated matter-of-factly. "Five heavy plasma cannons on each broadside is more than enough. Still..." he looked back at the Captain, who was still deep in thought, and sighed. He had better have a very good reason to be freezing up like this.

"It would be better to not risk damage to the ship's defenses, or at least minimize it. A boarding mission with minimum time spent aboard..." as he said this he looked at Rezzea, making sure to catch her eye, "...in order to plant a charge seems the best course of action. Disabling their cannons or shields would cause them to flee, and staying aboard even longer to disable the hyper-drive in order to prevent them fleeing is out of the question. I'm confident in the Captain's abilities to maneuver this ship in a space battle so as to minimize damage, if it comes to that."

He looked around the group, then turned to Zeradare. "Captain, I propose we go with Regrel's plan. We use a stealth shuttle to board the ship, and plant a timed charge on the engine. IF, and only if there is enough time, which would require everything to go perfectly and according to plan, we could possibly disable their hyper-drive before exiting. Not likely though."

"The ship will most likely be destroyed before the first shot is fired. If not, then we will engage them and keep a safe, but not revealing, distance. Until they explode."

Aza stepped forward, a slight hint of uncertainty in his steps but his voice was clear and confident

"Pardon me, if I am speaking out of turn but I hear alot of 'If', 'maybe' and other words of uncertainty. Perhaps we should go over what we know to be fact before we start making battle plans"

"There are many unknowns when going into battle, and yet actions must be taken swiftly and intelligently." Vfraar said over his shoulder, still waiting for the Captain's response. "The plan is solid, but there are many variable's that we simply cannot predict, and so we must make room for "ifs" and "maybes". "If" we have enough time, we'll disable their hyper-drive. "If" they begin their attack before the charge goes off, we'll have to engage them. "If" they're smarter than we think and trap the team on board, then we'll need enough time left on the detonator for the team to get out."

He glanced at the time. "And we only have an hour till they attack, more or less. Captain?"

"Don't speak to me as if I've never entered battle, sir. I know the risks of the battle and the variables that factor into it but the more we know, the less lives will be lost. However, this is all up to the Captain"

Aza stated in a firm voice, looking over to where the Captain was seated

"Awaiting orders, sir!"

Having listened to the various suggestions given by his fellow Sentinels, Zeredare had only one conclusion, they would have to board the opposing ship. His attention turned towards the combat commander and he gave a nervous glance before speaking.

"We are going to have to go with Regrel's plan. From the information I was able to pick up they have put full strenght into their drive and their shielding, all power as been taken away from the cannons and whatever else they deemed as unnecessary. They have even taken away the power from the cooling system, they could expoldie any second provided they aren't being careful." Zeredare muttered "We could buy some more time by accelerating, but that would only give us at most 30 minutes. We are going to board, you all have five minutes to gear up and get to life boats. I'll explain the rest of the details once there."

Vfraar glanced at Aza as the Captain gave them their orders, a dark red tint in his eyes.

"...We are going to board, you all have five minutes to gear up and get to life boats. I'll explain the rest of the details once there."

"Yes sir." he said flatly, still looking at the Nazar marksman. As the others filed out, he turned and took a long look at Zeredare, wondering what the Captain was planning.

Once back outside in the hallway, he quickly caught up with Aza. Coming up alongside him, Vfraar dexterously planted one large foot in front of him and then pivoted so that he blocked the marksman's path, his hulking body presenting an impassible wall. Not all of the others were out of sight yet, but he didn't really care.

"Let's get one thing straight, Nazar. I'm well aware of what's on your "resume"." he rumbled, his voice calm but deadly serious. "But I don't know you. I won't know you until we've been through hell and back together. Until then, "the way I speak to you" will be determined by. your. actions." He put a heavy emphasis on the last three words, leaning closer as he said them.

"I hope I've made myself clear." With one last stern look, the old talonisk turned away and continued down the hall towards his own quarters. He regretted having to do something like that so early on in the trip, and because of such a seemingly small remark as "don't speak to me as if", but if they didn't learn some kind of respect, they wouldn't get any, and the problems always started out small.

Lucia rolled his neck on his shoulders as he headed towards his room. "Alright, time to put the Meteor Mk. III through its paces!" He said to himself. He suited up and headed for the lifeboats.

Aza walked back to his quarters and quickly armored up, lovingly picking his sniper, holding it expertly in his hands.

Chuckling happily to himself as he arrived at the lifeboats, Aza thought back to what the talonisk had said.

He hoped everyone else on this ship was just as interesting

Hearing this, Nouw trotted away to his room and geared himself up.

" Asthma Gas? Check, Waste Tank? Check, Water Tank is... full. Mac wake up! We're going in" Nouw said to himself.

"Mac up sir! Ready for duty!"

After making all necessary adjustments and gearing up, he quickly walked to the life boats, conserving as much energy as possible for his first task.

" Nouw, ready for war " he said as he arrived.

I'll try and post as much as possible. I live with my family you see

Vfraar quickly returned to his quarters, where he made a necessary stop on the way to the shuttles. Upon neural command a small opening appeared on his suite, just above the sternum, and he swiftly withdrew the small device inside and plugged into the mass-storage computer that he had requested be installed weeks before.

It was by no means rare for the suit's computer to be slightly damaged in combat, and so creating a backup was absolutely necessary. It was an extremely large system, and so even with the millenia's advanced technology the copy took a full minute to complete.

Once it was done, Vfraar deftly unplugged the device, double checked to make sure the copy had been successful, and then planted it back in his suite as he walked out the door towards the shuttle bay, quickening his pace so as not to be late.

I can't post much more than this, I was busy this whole evening but whatever I may not post tonight, I will post tomorrow...

"Well well well, Combat Commander Vfraar, reporting for duty?"
Rezzea said as she sat in one of the lifeboats, stroking her sword with a cloth.

"Alright sir, I will be full on confronted with you. I don't really trust you, but somehow I know you'll die for any of us, I don't know what it is..."
She thought about it for a second, her mind wandering, before looking back up again.
"Some sort of a vibe you give off, at the very least, I am pleased to see a combat efficient commander in our team.."

She raised herself up and saluted.
"Welcome aboard the lifeboat Commander, enjoy the-"
Rezzea quickly stumbled back into her seat, a freshly opened vodka bottle fell from the seat and rolled out from the lifeboat.
"-Ride.." She sighed and sheathed her weapon.
"Not mine"
