Ah the Sun who love to sell opinion as facts.

People are probably not used to it, I felt pretty sick when I played an FPS (Probably doom on the snes) for the first time.

I rest my case. All you want is a Smart Phone, not video games.
Umm... How the hell did you deduce that from my statement? I just said, without killer apps what's the point? Meaning, without MUST HAVE games for it, what's the point of owning a system? But according to you, if the system doesn't have the games I want, then I don't want games? How does that make sense?

They focused on the 3D, but for God's sakes, are you really so inept that you're only buying a new system so long as the gimmick is 100% worthwhile? I'd like some portable OoT and portable Starfox64. If the 3D is awesome, then -cool-. If it isn't, I still get to legally play two of my most favorite games on a portable device.
Yes, portable Ocarina of Time, and Portable StarFox 64 sound awesome.
But first of all, neither is out yet. Second, they're still slightly better looking remakes. And even if having them portable is nice, is it worth $200+? Hell no.

You didn't even mention Street Fighter, which makes me think you just bought it because there's nothing better on the system right now. (Which is understandable, it only came out recently.) But if anything, YOU'RE the one who wants a 'smart phone', because you went ahead and bought your 3DS way before any game that you're really looking forward to even came out on it. Meaning you bought the system just for the sake of owning this system.

Not sure how no one has posted this [http://www.gamesradar.com/3ds/nintendo-3ds/news/tabloid-conducts-dubious-test-to-prove-3ds-makes-you-sick-we-conduct-simple-analysis-to-prove-its-bullshit/a-20110406102010712010/g-20100616102754448006] yet.

So yeah, of course the fat guy has an elevated pulse when he's walking. And of course he feels sick when he's playing whilst in a moving car, the vast majority of people experience that reading books.

For any Americans unfamiliar with 'The Sun', I do officially declare this report to be untrustworthy . Take it with...not a grain of salt, more like a bucket. A barrel even.

So they get a guy who apparnetly gets a bit motion sick from READING IN A CAR, to test out a device that tricks the eyes into seeing 3D... really? Oh and they then put him in a car to test that further?

Lets test this guy out reading a book or watching a film on an ipod touch or something, see how that effects him.

I for one, can read, write and game perfectly fine in any moving vehcle and don't get sea or motion sick at all. From what I've seen, if you do get motion sick at all, don't just stay away from 3D gaming, but give 3D tvs and movies a wide berth too!

Has anyone actually played pro evolution in 3d mode? its ridiculous, the camera pans so the 3d effect sort of has to "snap" back into position every now and then.. i couldnt stand 10 seconds of it.. i just flicked the switch to turn 3d off :p

Its as simple as turning the 3d effect down when it starts to mess with you. That or taking a break.

Goddamn, people are stupid.

The Sun is kind of a pointless 'newspaper', as anyone who wants to read it probably doesn't have the brain capacity to process more than single words.

I'm guessing Sudenak read your "killer app" and thought of cellphone apps, rather than its traditional meaning.

Ok - I get headaches and eyestrain from watching 3D movies at the theater. Not terrible ones and its more eyestrain than headache but its noticeable and I don't like 3D movies much before of it. If the movie looks cool enough and seems to make decent use of the 3D effects I'll endure it.

I've played my 3DS with the 3D turned all the way up for the extent of its battery life and not felt the slightest problem.

Though anyone taking anything the Sun says seriously I imagine is borderline retarded.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't The Sun the same magazine that repeatedly publishes Nostradamus' Doomsday prohecies?

How many gamers do you know that actually...

A: Pay attention to such bullshit.
B: Could possibly fathom not playing for a half hour every hour of game play. They've got shit to do, man! Those 680 some Poke'mon aren't going to catch/grind/fight themselves!

If you do know such gamers, ask yourself this follow up question:

How many of them would actually buy a 3DS when a normal DS is much cheaper and you can play for 10+ hours before feeling ill? Personally, I don't think a 3D effect is significant enough trade off for shelling out another $100 dollars and migraines if I play too long. Especially since I already HAVE something that plays the same games that the 3DS supports.

First of all.. The Sun has ZERO CREDIBILITY!

have you any idea how they reported the Hillsborough Disaster [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillsborough_Disaster]? They printed UTTER LIES that football fans had attacked police, held up paramadeics (for no reason) and even urinated on the piles od dead bodies following the lethal crush.

Nothing of the sort happened, The Sun officers were flooded with reports that the Football fans had pulled together to save lives and assist the authorities in every way. They printed it out of disgusting defamatory malice.

Even 22 years later NO ONE in Liverpool reads The Sun, there are no subscriptions there and no shops carry it. If you are caught reading one there don't be surprised to get a right good hiding for it, you would be looked at by some the same way as if you were reading Mein Kampf.

People outside Liverpool who read The Sun are completely mislead, they utterly depend on these shitty tabloids to tell them what is what.

The Sun are professional trolls, their paper is not worthy for your dog to shit on.

But even beyond their shitty and well deserved reputation; a "scientific" test with no mention of a control. How do we know it wasn't the very fact of playing the games rather than the 3D effect that was causing this response? And what is this supposition that a raised heart rate WHEN BEING ENTERTAINED is a medical concern?

I have used the 3DS, IF you can find that sweet-spot in terms of distance, angle and parallax then it is fine. If is annoying but this is typical scaremongering troll tactics to say it is ANY risk to your health. Don't be surprised if The Sun is petty enough to "demand" that this be banned in schools and certain shops they think are "pure".

Fuck. These tabloids, I really wish Americans knew how they are feeding the trolls by covering this.

I hope you are aware that the Sun is known all across the UK as the biggest joke newspaper ever printed. The only reason anyone even reads the Sun is because Page 3 always has naked women on it.

OT: I played my 3DS for an hour or so playing Street Fighter and I got nothing more than a bit hungry.
As said previously, I'm pretty sure there was more health and safety leaflets than actual instructions in the box with my 3DS.

Even if this was in some way creditable and true. The Sun is basically trying to ruin a new innovation and every ones fun with it.

Can you please stop reporting on what the British newspapers are saying? It makes me embarrassing about being the same species as them.
Dont be a dick, the Sun's nothing compared to the rubbish Fox vomits out. And no I'm not British either.
Actually Rubert Murdoch owns them both, so they're pretty much equal.
Fair enough, but at least the Sun doesnt have it's own television channel.

What I'm saying is that you're calling the system utterly worthless, based on the fact that you don't need the 3D. You're not saying "because the games suck", you're saying "because the 3D sucks". That'd be as obtuse as me saying that I didn't buy a PS3 because the improved graphics aren't necessary to gaming.

As to the second part of your statement, you need understand one thing:

I don't have a 3DS yet.

Your bold step forward is that my distaste for your argument stems from me having bought it. I didn't like the release titles, so I didn't buy it. But I plan to. It has a pretty solid release list for the summer, which is when I plan to buy.

Which basically makes your entire second slam of my intellect utterly moot. Unlike you, I'm not buying systems based on the system; I buy them based on the games. I didn't buy a 360 until a year ago, for example, because I just didn't feel compelled enough to get it until it had a large enough library of things I liked. Everyone and their grandmother wheezed praise about the 360, but that wasn't enough for me to buy one. Right now, your entire argument had been that the 3D of the 3DS is the only reason to own a 3DS. For me, there's a few reasons to own it: I never bought a DS but want the games, 3DS is backwards compatible. I like the releases that will be coming out later. The 3D isn't the draw for me (although the augmented reality is). For me, the $200+ is justified because I know that upon purchasing it, I'll have a pool of desired games that is probably triple that of the games that I own on the 360.

Your points don't fit, and ergo, I disagree.
