From what I understood, there's a switch on the 3DS which indicates how much 3-D you want a game to have. Also giving the player the ability to turn off the 3-D effect entirely, if he or she happens to experience nausea.Silent Biohazard Solid said:That would kind of defeat the purpose of the 3DS wouldn't it?Casual Shinji said:Wouldn't this be easily fixed by turing off the 3-D effect on the 3DS?
But they did make me think... Did Nintendo at all test long term effects of this particular type of 3D on the eyes? I mean, even in 3D movies, they're 3 hours at most. And let's face it, we're gamers. We'll be gaming for 5+ hours sometimes, sometimes for a whole day. That can't be very good for the eyes, I imagine, to be forcefed depth perception where there isn't any.
Thank you. That's what I had thought.Charli said:This just in, No one takes The Sun seriously. No one.
Just informing everyone outside the UK their cover is usually consistent of some sleezy tabloid proclamation or a naked women of whom you have no idea what relevance it is to the daily news.
Think Fox news but in Paper form.

So, what you're saying is you're agreeing with me.Balobo said:All in all, I'd say yes... turning off the HD gimmick makes it pretty much the same as an XBOX/PS2/PS2 Slim, just with updated storage space and basic technology that's been included since the XBOX/PS2 were released over half a decade ago.Byere said:-snip-

my thoughts exactlyCasual Shinji said:Wouldn't this be easily fixed by turing off the 3-D effect on the 3DS?
Well, the main problem with that is that the biggest selling point of this system is that it has 3D. So if someone buys it and is expecting to play some awesome 3D games, and then gets nauseous and is forced to turn it off. They're effectively losing the one feature that they wanted the most out of this product. The one feature that they paid $289 for, or however much the retail value is.Casual Shinji said:From what I understood, there's a switch on the 3DS which indicates how much 3-D you want a game to have. Oh right, sorry, thought you meant that you were embarrassed to be in the same species as the British, my mistake.AngryMongoose said:I am British, it's just I felt the tabloids here are shit enough for the entire species, not just Britain.The-Epicly-Named-Man said:Dont be a dick, the Sun's nothing compared to the rubbish Fox vomits out. Not really sure how you managed to interpret that but whatever.Byere said:So, what you're saying is you're agreeing with me.Balobo said:All in all, I'd say yes... turning off the HD gimmick makes it pretty much the same as an XBOX/PS2/PS2 Slim, just with updated storage space and basic technology that's been included since the XBOX/PS2 were released over half a decade ago.Byere said:-snip-
Also, nice useless addition to the conversation and showing of your wit and intelligence, taking what I've written and just changing a few words in it. How very mature of you.
Cut off most of your post 'cause it's a wee bit long to quote. I think you're mixing up people with this particular chunk, because I never even explored anything about the actual 3DS besides the games that are on it.Silent Biohazard Solid said:You were the one who started dropping things like, "analog stick, superior graphics, better online," which said nothing about the actual games that are on it. You made it sound like those are the main selling points that make you want it.
Again, I'm not saying that 3D is awful. I'm saying that it's a gimmick. It might not be a bad gimmick, but ultimately, it's not something I want all games to become. But regardless of how I feel about the concept, it's not about that.Sudenak said:As to the rest of what you said: Yes, it would be nice for the 3D to be highly desirable. Of course, neither of us (judging by how you've said that you buy systems that have games you want, and you clearly don't want the 3DS games) have experienced the 3D stuff firsthand. I've heard a toss-up between the 3D being amazing and it being awful. Frankly, I won't know until I actually try it, and neither will you.
So far, your argument has been that the 3D is awful, therefore the 3DS is worthless. You base this off of...really, I guess just a general distaste and loathing for the 3D gimmick. Y'know what would be an excellent parallel to draw? Xbox live. Everyone and their grandmother professes that the online multiplayer aspects really make some of the 360 games great. But I never use it because I hate the Xbox live. Does that make the 360 worthless? Nope.
Umm... you didn't say anything of the sort. But whatever justifies you flaming me .-.Byere said:Ok, let me explain so your small mind can comprehend it, though I'll try not to use any more big words.Balobo said:Not really sure how you managed to interpret that but whatever.Byere said:So, what you're saying is you're agreeing with me.Balobo said:All in all, I'd say yes... turning off the HD gimmick makes it pretty much the same as an XBOX/PS2/PS2 Slim, just with updated storage space and basic technology that's been included since the XBOX/PS2 were released over half a decade ago.Byere said:-snip-

By saying an Xbox360/PS3 without the HD feature makes them an Xbox/PS2, you're saying the same thing I was about a 3DS being the same as an original DS/Lite/etc. You're saying that without the main USP (unique selling point), they're just like the previous generation of that company's console/handheld. Since that's exactly what I was saying (though using a different example), you are therefore agreeing with me.
As for the whole maturity thing, it's called "sarcasm". You'd be better off looking up what it means rather that have me explain it, otherwise you'd just hear a lot more of it.
