As much as I take The Sun with a grain of salt, I do have to admit that I got an awful headache within a minute of playing a 3DS at Best Buy a couple of days ago. I can't vouch for anything beyond that.

So far, your argument has been that the 3D is awful, therefore the 3DS is worthless. You base this off of...really, I guess just a general distaste and loathing for the 3D gimmick. Y'know what would be an excellent parallel to draw? Xbox live. Everyone and their grandmother professes that the online multiplayer aspects really make some of the 360 games great. But I never use it because I hate the Xbox live. Does that make the 360 worthless? Nope.
Y'see, people have these things called interests. My interests might be different than yours. Yours may be different than mine. But pretending in your heart of hearts that no one should buy the 3DS because the 3D is worthless is just plain silly. Hell if you know, hell if I know. What I -do- know is that good games are going to be released on the 3DS, so at least a part of your claims is utter bull. Even if the 3D is awful, the games will be great, so what are you on about exactly? The technology, and only the technology. Kind of a flimsy argument.
Because, and to compare it to the Wii; I didn't buy Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime 3 for the indepth motion controls. I bought them because they were fun. When I want motion controls, it's for something like Wii Fit; something where I can casually include my family. The 3D might be fun occasionally, too, and it might work better with some games than others. But ultimately, I'm not buying a game based on anything besides the game itself; and I'm nowhere near elitist enough to call the game a failure based on something as silly as the gimmick of the system not being used.
Again, I'm not saying that 3D is awful. I'm saying that it's a gimmick. It might not be a bad gimmick, but ultimately, it's not something I want all games to become. But regardless of how I feel about the concept, it's not about that.Sudenak said:

Like I said, motion controls are the Wii's key feature. And if you buy it for another reason, that's fine. But it promises great motion controls, and if those motion controls suck... And when I say suck, I don't mean a matter of opinion. I mean, if they don't work properly as promised, then those people who are expecting a great intuitive motion control experience, will be disappointed.
If you're gonna use Xbox live as an example, then it's more like this. Xbox live promises a great online gaming system, which is efficient, responsive, and makes it easy to play online. So a person subscribes to it, and then every five minutes, it kicks you off and says there are server problems. Clearly, the person who WANTED it and paid for it would be disappointed.
The onyl difference is, (as far as I know) that's not the case for Xbox Live. And the Wii still has good motion controls (on some games, anyway). But with the 3DS, it seems to be a consistent problem with people, that they're either not seeing the 3D, or get sick from it. Now, if those people really like and want the 3D feature, then that's a LOT of disappointed people out there, even if that problem only occurst with half of them it's still a lot of people.
