Noticing your character's general aura of doucheyness, Exictednuke, I would have assumed he would take the drugs then blow up the facility. :p No offense.

She was up and about earlier than usual, still adjusting to the jet lag. Amy had moved to her new apartment in this city only three days ago, her room still littered with bulging boxes. Today was her first day to explore, gather her bearings, and enjoy a connection with a new and foreign city. Heaving a contented but tired sigh, Amy strode down the street, a small black purse slung over one shoulder, both hands gripping plastic bags brimming with the bare essentials- bread, peanut butter, and the like.

The streets seemed mildly confusing, and having left her map at her apartment, she was left with only backwards memories to guide her home, which were hard enough to make sense of, having focused her eyes on the architecture and people that lined streets and crowded sidewalks. Feeling a mild sense of defeat, she stopped, and glanced to her left.

A long and slender alleyway stretched away from her, with enough girth for only two or so people to walk side by side. Was this the way I had come? It was dark, shadowed by the colossus buildings on either side. It was mildly familiar... Maybe she had passed it before? Gripping her bags a little more tightly, she turned down the alley.

She didn't realize her mistake until she was a third of the way through the long corridor. A shadow appeared at the end of the alley, a shadow against the light at the end of the tunnel. His body was tall, bulging, and hunched, clothed in baggy sweats. Feeling very small, Amy turned around.

A second man, shorter and leaner, was close behind, his hoodie masking his eyes and leaving only a grimacing mouth. Amy backed away- he walked faster, and in no time was running like a lion seizing its prey. Cornered, she backed against a wall of the alley, feeling her hands and feet run cold with fear, her heart racing to pump blood back into them. As she flattened herself against the cool brick, the smaller man stepped closer, and her plastic bags and purse fell to the ground.

"Y-You can take my money- there- take it!" The man didn't seem interested. Only then did she noticed the gun-shaped indent in his sweatshirt.

Time slowed. Both men crept toward her steadily, knowing they were victorious. At that moment, a loud explosion resonated from the end of the alleyway. All three heads turned to look- until Amy turned the opposite way to run. Her second mistake. The shorter man, surprisingly strong, grabbed her arm and wrenched her backward. She yelped, feeling his touch burn- but... he was wearing gloves? She smelt something odd, something like... burning flesh.

She turned to look, blue eyes widening in fright. His glove was smoking, burning around his palm. It quickly burnt away, searing the skin underneath. His face registered shock, then the pain, and he pulled away with an agonizing scream. Amy stood still, staring at her hands.

Not again... Not again...!

Her skin began to glow, her insides writhing and burning as though she bore a sun inside of her. She sank against the wall, sitting down with her forehead on her knees, pulling her legs close together with her arms. She rocked back and forth as the light continued to brighten, quickly flooding the alley with a light that mimicked the sun itself overhead. Her body screamed, tortured by both the frigid air outside, and the fiery heat beneath her skin. A tear drifting down her face, before evaporating.

Alexander watched the man fly away, then turned to the group. "Seriously, what the hell is going on here?"

It had been a few weeks since Alexander had woken up with his new powers, he had mainly confined himself to beating down local street toughs and gangsters, to try and cut down some of the crime that the city had suffered recently. Now it seemed that there were more people with powers.

"This could be interesting" Alexander thought.

Ryan trotted down the street in the direction he had heard the explosion. He normally wouldn't leave his apartment for anything, too much work. But this was different, this was something possibly exciting, which would be a welcome change from his boring routine. Maybe there would be bodies, and wreckage, or maybe a shootout. By now he ws confident enough in his new abilities to help him escape most kinds of trouble.

As he passed an alleyway to his right, something caught his eye and made him stop. He looked for a moment then quickly ducked behind the wall. Two punks were converging on a fairly attractive young woman, which usually meant only bad things. His mind raced. He cold probably take them both out. No, he definitely could. But what of the risk? Would he really be willing to die for some random chick? Would he?

Ah fuck it.

He burst from around the corner in a dead run, one hand reaching for the trashcan to his left, one hand forming a small blob out of the rock in his pocket, and two holes already made in the soles of his shoes to give him contact with the ground. His valiant charge was cut short, however, by a sudden burst of light that looked light an exploding sun. He stopped and fell back onto the ground, his arm over his face. "HOLY SHIT!"

His eyes clenched close, he felt his way towards the wall. He could hear the two men yelling, and the girl crying. He reached the wall and laid a hand on it. The individual bricks each turned to mush and parted, making a small gooey hole, which he slipped through just as his jacket began to sizzle.

These people had all lost the plot. They weren't sure what had happened, which meant that anything was about to. So Catherine drew attention to herself was a loud burst of fire from one hand, a flamer to her, and began to speak. "Right. There's nothing to see here guys. I think we can all move along now." In truth, she'd noticed the supers among the crowd, most notably the one whom she had originally gone after, and had begun to fear for innocent lives.

A few of the people did dissipate, annoyed from the lack of fighting or the overuse of fighting talk, though some continued to mill about.

She descended to ground level and went to the few who started the fight. She wanted to shout at them, knowing they'd deserved it for such idiocy in a city. It's like they'd never heard of subtlety. Well, she was running around as the citywide saviour now so that hardly helped her point. But she used to be subtle. "Can we just... I don't know... Not try to kill each other over a bin exploding? The only reason I'm here right now is to ask a guy some questions and then it turns out you're all trying to kill each other over one miniature explosion! It makes my job a lot harder you know, when others like you start running around. Do you know how much it takes to try when you guys are working against me consistently?"

Some of the people looked around, probably trying to find a suitable response. Well there wasn't one.

"So yes. I do think you should go off in your own directions now."

More people cut away and left the scene, leaving only the group of supers. She'd seen the argument, but not understood how. She guessed power corruption. She tilted her head on one side and sighed. "So, what are you waiting for? Get going. Run off. Scarper."

Blair saw the arrival of the 'hero' and groaned.

Yay... I'm beaming with excitement...

"I have an apartment on the upper east side. Plenty of room for everyone."

James shared the others distate for the 'hero's' arrival.

Great, just what we need now is some costumed fool.

Turning to Blair, he nodded with a small smile on his face.

"That sounds good. Not to mention fancy."

He glanced at Chris and sheepishly looked at the crowbar in his hand.

"Erm, sorry mate. I didn't mean to flip out like that, I just get paranoid about this sort of thing..."

He trailed off.

"It's cool," he laughs slightly, "well I guess it's not every day you get a bin blowing up in front of you," he smiles devilishly."

"Let's go then before Supergirl kicks our asses," he laughs pulling his hat back over his hair.

I like how every says 'hero' rather than hero. It really makes my character feel special. Years of having to play the superhero and when she finally takes up the mantle no-one likes her for it. Just you wait for the city to be attacked by some super villain. Then you'll be pleading for help. =P

Catherine hated it when people got like this. They always thought that just because she dressed like this she was a bit weak and stupid. Just because she had the sense and knowledge that years of super powered advancement bring you she was somehow worse. But these were supers as well, making it that much worse. They were supposed to know how much you have to stay unknown or at least your real self does.

But at least they weren't fighting now. And if they fought anyone it would be her. So she left the laughably useless supers in search of something real she could do.

Little did the small group of heroes know, they were being watched from the sewers. As they began heading toward the apartment, a nearby manhole cover went back into its proper placing, a snout disappearing from the cover.

Lupo thought that the woman was quite attractive, he hadn't seen a woman in months and was instantly infatuated with Blair. He began trailing the scent of the heroes, which was easy to do because heroes give off a very strong hormone.

Blair reached into her purse and pulled out her phone. Dialing a phone number she waited for someone to pick up.

"Hello? Yeah I need you to come pick me up. I'm at the corner of Elm and 45th Street."

Hanging up the phone she looked at the small group.

"My driver should be here in a few minutes."

"Driver?" asked Chris gob smacked, "how rich are you?"

He turns away to look around the street waiting for Blair to answer, he noticed a few girls sauntering around the street, the panic had subsided quite quickly after the 'hero' disappeared.

Ryan sat on the floor of what appeared to be a bathroom, trying to catch his breath. He could have sworn that burning light had come from the girl herself, which brought more than a few questions. The foremost in his mind at the moment though, was what to do. He couldn't imagine that the two thugs were still any threat to her, so technically she probably wasn't in any danger. But he had heard her crying...

Decisions decisions... there really isn't much i can do, besides maybe getting her out of that alleyway. She might burn right through the goo though. No telling how long that shit'll keep up. He turned back to the wall he had come through, and laid a hand on it. It was warm, as if a fire were on the other side. Wonderful. She's gonna burn the wall down. He decided the best course of action would be to wait and watch, then once she was "burnt out", he would try to help her out.

He got up and cautiously walked out into the hallway, then out into the living room. The family had long gone to bed, and the only person nearby was a young buy asleep on the ouch in front of the flickering tv. He crept by, into the kitchen then goo'd through the back door... right in front of a small group of people.

They all seemed to be finishing up an argument about something. Several of them stopped talking and stared at him.

Unfortunately for him, Ryan's naturally reaction to surprise, fear, or shock was to freeze, which he instantly did, leaving half of his left leg still inside the wooden door, and absolutely no doubt that he had just walked strait though it. He stood there for a second, then slowly pulled the rest of his leg through. "Ummm... hi. I can explain that."

Blair smiled at Chris' question. She never liked telling people how rich she was, but it seemed that almost everyone she knew asked her.

"I'm well off" she answered him.

The limo finally drove around the corner and stopped in front of the group.

"Who wants to get in first?"

Before anyone could answer her another man walked into the conversation.

"Who are you?"

James watched as the limo pulled up.

"Veeery fancy."

He started to move towards the limo when he heard Blair's question. Turning, he saw the man, halfway through the wall, freeze in shock before pulling himself through. He sighed.

"How many of us are there in this place?"

The heroine stood on a rooftop, watching the city. She was rare, for with her power, she had taken up great responsibility, while most merely viewed power as an escape from the world's consequences.

She had not deserved desertion. But maybe she would forgive, even after the years...

"Catherine" said a voice behind her, and as she turned, a man stepped from the shadows. There was nothing odd about him, but something about the way he moved suggested he was more than human.

Tsk... So many supers and they're all utterly useless at the job. They'd sooner kill each other than save their city. Catherine had returned to her apartment's rooftop, laying in wait once more. She let a few signs she would normally check out go by, put off by the new set of supers running around.

A voice from behind her. And it knew her even through her disguise. She simply turned, doing her best not to answer as she usually would, because there was more power in a name than most people knew. She readied two pistols.

The voice repeated. It was familiar, with a tone she'd not heard for a long time. "Who are you? Get into the light."

The man shook his head, and stepped forward. At least, he looked like a man, but she knew otherwise

"I'd thought you might be a little hostile, but there's no need for that" said ThreeWords, shaking his head, "Humans are so hard to predict"

Frankly, Ryan was surprised that these people weren't more... surprised. He had just walked through a solid wooden door...

He stuttered as a limo, a freakin limo, that apparently belonged to the long-haired chick with the fancy clothes, pulled up. "I'm uh.. well my name's Ryan..." He stared at the blonde-haired man for a moment. "Wait, what do you mean us? Who are you guys?"
