Well, that's rare, strange, and saddening to hear. But at least she survived. You never expect these things to happen, and then they suddenly become blown out of proportion...I'm just waiting to hear about this from other sources than the Escapist and Metro.

Stupid game haters. You know that the whole "mental helth problem"'s going to get lost in translation, and everyone (read fox news) Are going to say "VIDEO GAMES DID THIS AND THEY SHOULD BE BANNED."
Really, isn't it obvious that it's the internet providers fault for dropping the conection?
... OK, that was in bad taste. I apologise. Anyway, tell me this now: WHY THE FUCK ARE THESE PEOPLE ALOWED TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES? Mental helth disorder + violent as hell video game + problems with life = NO. NO GOOD.

For a second I thought it would be his 2V2 partner, but no.

You know, if it was really him playing in that very lol 1vs1 on DIRE STRAITS of all terrible maps SC had, I wonder what it would be like to be the guy he was playing against.

Maybe someone who disconnected from a game I was playing went off to murder someone...

Cookie for Whom who gets the reference.
Also, I hate that song and it's catchier than it should be. Basshunter is a joke and he knows it and he laughs at people who enjoy his music.

Yes... hilarious... Now imagine it was your sister/friend/girlfriend who was walking alone that night and that the person hit an artery instead. Not so funny now is it.

Internet hard guys are not generally welcomed here.
No, it wouldn't be funny, but that's not what the damn articles about. The girl didn't die.
Stop being such a douchebag.

It really is though isn't it? Time marches on, progress is made, but crazy... crazy never changes.
Well... come on... it's StarCraft...
I would be pretty pissed too if my connection dropped...
Though homicidal rage is a different slice of pie entirely.

To me this is just more ammunition (ironically) against gun proliferation. If he had owned a gun, it wouldn't be protecting anyone, because more than likely that girl and possibly another would be dead.

Also, why is it that anti-games lobbyists immediately yell "OMG IT WAS THAT GAME THAT MADE HIM DO IT"

rather than,

"Hm, this is interesting, it seems that psychologically damaged/stunted individuals are more attracted to violent videogames, does this fuel their fantasies or supress them? We should do a study to determine the true effects of violent gaming across several ranges of mental health."

Fox news predictions anyone?
FoxNews said:
More proof that games are the spawn of satan up at 6:00, an normal 18-yearold, bent upon destruction as his objective in the war-simulator, Starcraft, had his internet connection drop in the middle of a pitched online murderfest. His lust for blood unsatisfied, he promptly took his father's Sabre and prowled the neighborhood, late at night, in order to find a victim. He then found a 15-yearold girl on her way home from a wholesome swim meet, and stabbed here multiple times. Despite her near-decapitation and multiple stabs to her heart, she was able to pull through by channeling the powers of her non-gaming wholesomeness to heal her wounds. The Gamer has not been seen since, and the girl described him as "wearing a hockey mask and dressing entirely in black". A nation-wide manhunt has been called as we attempt to find this fugitive.
