I know what you mean, back here in the netherlands we used to have one of the best legal systems in the world. we've had it since the dark ages when we where know as the country where woman would actually survive the witch trails(not all of them but a fair amount). hell the highest court in the world is positioned here. but ever since the EU started shoving their laws down our throats it's been downhill all the way.

Heh, the EU started throwing around a bill about the declaration of Internet rights about two days after IPRED was announced. Or if it was FRA [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FRA-law]. It's their way of saying "Yo bitches be crazy in the membrain."

I don't know how to comment this. Yay for stricter conditions on the other 17 year olds who are too fucking cheap to pay for honest work?

I'm a Swedish, yet I haven't seen this on the news... Yet. Which kinds of makes me nostalgic.

I feel slightly embarrassed that I took that to be a genuinely swedish translation and didn't really look until someone else pointed it out. Top work and bonus points for 'bork bork' Muppet chef ftw!

Below sums up my entire knowledge of Sweden, apart from IKEA:

that looks more like dutch to me :)

Kinda-OT: I must learn where that picture is from! D:<
you're either joking or you've never seen dutch before. because that is most certainly not dutch. for example the blue title written in dutch would be this: Zweedse politie klaagt over antie-piraterij wet.
it was a joke, because when ever I've seen Dutch, it has SO many vowels next to each other

Just further proof that people in government don't have a clue as to what they are governing and how it works. Congradulations Sweden, you've discovered the internet! Now its time to learn about it. Before it kills your career.

The comment is directed firmly at the Swedish government, and more specifically the idiots who thought up this brilliant duct tape measure. I'm quite sure the average Swedish citizen is familiar with the internet, and in general brighter than this. You know atleast one person involved in this process is just barely coming to terms with the existence of typewriters.

Oh god my government is stupid, after they make a law that force ISP's to spy on me, after that they will notice that a lot more people are starting to use IPREDATOR... They still don't know who shot Olof Palme (Our former City Minister, which is the highest rank you can get in the Swedish government) and now they can't even catch pedophiles...

That's a photo of the Keystone Kops, from a popular series of silent movies produced by Mack Sennett (the same producer who gave Charlie Chaplin his first break in Hollywood).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystone_Kops

EDIT: Oh yeah, that's not Dutch - it's "Swedish Chef", the language spoken by that famous Muppet!
You beat me to it. The actor on the far right is Fatty Arbuckle. I recognized the film.

.. which is EXACTLY what we, the sane people who were against this BS said before its implementation. If you make it easier to monitor the internet, there is going to come much more technology for organizing into Darknets, and ISP's will help their customer retain their privacy, making it easier for real criminals to hide. The EU are a bunch of wankers and i hope we secede very shortly.

Lots of laws in Sweden at the moment come directly from the European Union, and as we all know, most laws passed in the European Union spring from lobbyists who have meeting around the goddamn clock with the MP's. I honestly see no upside WHATSOEVER to membership in this tomfoolery.
*Claps hands and cheers*

You can still leech others with wifi, so its really no big deal. There's always a way to bypass something.

Silly people... this is like trying to cure a broken bone with a band aid and asprin. The only reason piracy is an actual issue is because the creators make inferior products/items/etc. and get greedy. Seriously, if a company releases a great game and charge a fair price for it, I know very few people who would ever try to pirate it. The same is true for movies and music - if an artist is truly good and releases worthwhile material for the price, there are few people who would pirate the material.

It's only when corporations start sticking their money-grubbing hands into the pot that piracy ever really becomes an issue. You afftect their bottom line, they declare war.

O.K, I'll stop being a douche, but our current government is worse than the one that was before. They are trying to sell as many state-owned(?) businesses as possible, while they are trying to control us more. I just wanna say one thing: RÖSTA RÖDGRÖNT TILL HÖSTEN!
