When I first read about this and saw that it was an FPS there was slight disappointment, not the absolute RAAAAGGGGGEEEEE! of some people though.

This trailer impresses me though, it captures the feel and look of the original. I even saw something that reminded me of one of the missions in the original Syndicate where you have to "persuade" a scientist to come with you but can't use the Persuadertron on him or his head will explode.

I'll be keeping an eye on this game, if it doesn't require that Origin spyware bullshit I'll add it to the list of games I need to play when I get a new PC put together.

Fucking dubstep.
Otherwise it looks okay.
Skrillex isn't dubstep it's closer to industrial / house then anything. Dubstep has alot of bass and wub wub wub abuse.
* listens to the bass and wub wub wub abuse in said video *

Uh-huh?

I lack the distortion and tempo of industrial tech or house, not to mention the tech or house itself. This most definitely sounds like dubstep to me.

this looks rally good.
and while i will miss the old gameplay the best thing about syndicate has always been the setting. Oh and everything looked just a little too bright in the trailer.

The track he used isn't suppose have a high tempo and dubstep is a D&B derivative of techno. This is closer to industrial then dubstep the hard bass isn't there.

Seems the designers got some interesting ideas and then one corporate asshole wanted modern warfare in there... got mixed feelings on this, I wanna see what they did but I don't want another gray shooter.

At least this could make a half way decent game...and they seem to actually using the setting and the original ideas and feel - not just slapping on a name and walking away - yes Xcom, I am looking at you

Game looks incredible like a more advanced Deus Ex, pure adrenaline rush throughout the whole video.

Wtf are you smoking Skrillex is exactly dupstep! In fact he hybrid dupstep and electro into it's own form of dupstep typically called electrostep by his fans. FFS I don't hear anything industrial with his shit or this shit.

At first, I didn't really think too much about it. Didn't love or hate the idea of an FPS Syndicate.
But this looks pretty damn sweet! Definitely gonna keep my eye on it.

I don't understand why are saying its a rip off do they think deus ex was the first dark scfi thriller featuring trench coats, shadowy organizations a evil corporations?
Timing.

Every time something is hugely successful in the entertainment business, countless imitators pops up, trying to capitalise on whatever aspects of the hit are deemed to have contributed to the good fortune. Often productions sloppily slapped together from a modification of work that has been lying around, or is half finished - not seldom with a, in truth unrelated, big name plastered over it, to draw in the crowds.

Note every sci-fi-ey action film that came out during the years after Matrix, or the way Dreamworks' production roster tends to mirror what Pixar does.

Although I haven't played the old Syndicate, this gameplay trailer looks very promising.

The game looks very high end looking,so you'll prolly need a monster PC to run it.

For me Syndicate was a game I loved more for the setting than the gameplay, so even though I'd have preferred a squad shooter I was still pretty interested. As for the trailer though, is there any shooter of the last 5 years this couldn't be?

Heh, so maybe this isn't a complete rape of the syndicate name after all...

There are still some warning signs that I don't like, but can believe this might be a decent game which doesn't totally dishonor its progenitor like *cough* xcom.

The time of the brown wasteland shit is over. The time of the the neon-blue cyberpunk shit is upon us. Only 7 mayor cyberpunk games to go before we're back to wading in zombie shit again.

No civilians to mow down = suck. Indoor hallways vs sprawling city = suck. Not syndicate at all. Its Deus Ex Blue. Just brutality gets old, to really be Syndicate it has to be totally cold blooded.

If you remember the original Syndicate the agents were random dudes kidnapped off the street, had their junk cut off, their brain wiped, and were basically turned into tools under the control of their corporate masters. The only reason you as a player cared if they lived or died was because they were expensive but otherwise they were totally disposable and easily sacrificed if the objective called for it. There was nothing "badass" about them, any more than a bulldozer is "badass" because it keeps going after being shot with a shotgun.

Oh and also your minions were controlled by dosing them up with drugs, and when they ODing them was a strategy to get them to go berserk and kill everyone around them. So yeah this trailer isn't like that at all.

Before, I expressed how sad I was at the opinion of the original Syndicate held by the creators of this game. Now, I'll still say that I wish this game was more like the originals, but it looked damn slick, and exciting. It *does* seem like you'll be in Syndicate, through the eyes of a ground team member.

Futhermore, I want to point to a post I made awhile back before this game was even announced to be a shooter:

You know what, I'm REALLY just looking forwards to hearing their "there are enemy Agents near!!!!" music.

Listening to the calm but tense mision music only to have it replaced by that tune was enough to get my little (then) 8 year old heart racing.

Haha, I told you all it could be good but nobody listened! I AM AWESOME!!! >=D

But no, in all seriousness, I understand why people were a little wary about the design changes. This trailer does look really awesome, I hope they don't drop the ball on it because it has a lot of potential.

(On another note, I hope it doesn't use EA's dreaded Origin service...)
