Undeniable logic, good sir. I shall get the car battery.

"Mom where are the batteries?"
"They are in the first drawer dear, why you want them?"
"I'm going to play some games mom"
"Ok dear" -some time later- "Jimmy why you needed those batteries? Jimmy what's that burnt smell coming from your room, OH GOD JIMMY!!!!..." I will let the rest to your imagination ;P

Here's a fun way;

Safety note: Electricity is God's way of saying "I can hurt you whenever it damn well pleases me."

(Only use this method if your brain cells number in the single digits)

Lol, clever statement my good sir.

One just flew over the cuckoo's nest for this one. No thanks. I like my brain the way that it is. Besides, you know very well what something like this means. It's not permanent, so the really hardcore people will get addicted to performance-increase in their games. And then, it'll come to a point when some idiot decides to get a 'steady flow' going and blows a fuse while frying his brain. Pass and pass.

Well it is settled, I will convert my dead-man-switch anti-class sleeping watch into a thinking watch.

Great Scott!

We must all expose our bodies to copious amounts of electricity for prolonged periods of time immediately! FOR SCIENCE!

And epic high scores. But MOSTLY FOR SCIENCE!!

Can anyone try out if the mains power would be any good? Let us know what sort of mains it was too ie single phase 230V or 3 phase 400V etc. Pics or a vid would be good too.

So does this mean that the more juice you use the better you get?

Awesome! *Hooks himself to a car battery*

Now on to becoming the best at multiplayer!

Note: Do not try this at home.

Yes, obviously this is a good idea...

Actually there is credence to this, but probably just improving your own body's electrical system is a better and safer way to achieve it.
Eat your vitamins for more ganks!

Let's hope because the current extreme measures of depression treatment (electroconvulsive therapy) is being questioned more and more in the literature.

As someone who has actually hooked not only his own head but the heads of friends and family up to 9-volt batteries (not to the temples for performance, different part of the head for different reasons), I felt the need to register to call you all wusses.

I'm totally gonna read more into this and try it out if it looks promising.

Seriously! It's fun! Just do your research first!

First off, note the current limit: 2mA. Ohm's law states that Voltage / Resistance = Current, so you've got to find the resistance of your head and tweak the voltage to get the right current. With a nine volt and the area I was working with (mastoid process, behind the ears), it came out to about 10mA depending on how hard you pushed with dry wires. That was about perfect for my purpose and it worked out great with no lobe damage (that I've noticed (yet)).

Secondly, do your research! There are plenty of papers about hooking electrodes up to brains. It is entirely possible to do this safely at home. It is also entirely possible to really zap the hell out of yourself, possibly fatally.

For the curious who may be asking "Why in the hell would you wire your mastoid process to a 9-volt?", you remember that story a few years back about how the Japanese made a headset that let you remote control people? Turns out that works by sending about 10mA through the inner ear by way of the mastoid process, causing you to feel like you are tipping over. I don't know about you, but I couldn't resist verifying that. BTW, FYI, totally verified.
