In the first game, I found the love interests boring. I always wished Tali could have been a romance option because she was such an interesting character. So when I herd that in Mass Effect 2, you could have a relationship with Tali, I rejoiced. I came onto the forms expecting people to say that they had relationships with Miranda/Yvonne Strahovski, but I was surprised to learn that EVERYONE loved Tali. Is it the mask, the hidden arabian accent, or is she just that interesting to people?

I also thought it was Russian. And frankly, Tali does nothing for me. I will always like Liara the best...sniff.

I think it was the mystery, and partly the option that she was listed as "un-obtainable" which made people want her more.

I thought Tali was far more interesting than any of the love interests in the first game. Plus, she was the only woman NOT trying to molest be between every mission, so I felt like I respected her more

Yeah, I think I have even heard some Russian-ish accents from other Quarians.

Voice seems Russian, dress seems strict Muslim (hence the Arabian idea) due to the veil.

You don't see what's under the mask, the sexy accent is Russian (I believe), and Tali is just an all-around awesome squadmate.

It's the intriguing accent and personality, for me at least.

And she knows a lot about the geth, which I appreciate, though I did appreciate Legion more when it came to information-swapping regarding our former synthetic enemies.

That's...not a euphemism, by the way!

Hated Tali in the first, liked her in the second but still went with Miranda as she is such a likable character. Also shagged Jack.

Even though I hated her in the first game, it was odd seeing her back in the second as I was just so happy to see someone from my original crew.

And then Garrus came along...

I wept with joy.

It's the accent, nothing else.

Also, the fact that you don't see her face means you can make up your own mind on how she looks.
Plus, no awkward facial animations.

To be honest I'm not sure why everyone likes her to much. She doe shave that mystery factor. Apparently some people like that a lot, though I personally don't because mystery can easily lead to horror. I also find it disturbing that so many people want to have sex with someone when they haven't even seen their face.

In the first game Tali had very little personality. She was basically a blank slate, mostly used by the writers to expand on the backstory of the Geth and Quarians. Though because she had so little personality there wasn't anything there to really hate. In the second game they apparently expand on her personality, but so far I haven't seen it. All she has done is whine about either Cerberus, her home world, Legion, or the Geth in general. At this point it's easy for me to just dismiss her as a whiny racist *****.

I would try talking to her more, but she is stuck in a perpetual funk because I sided with Legion instead of her. And I can't talk to her with my male Shepard because then I risk falling into the romance trap.

I always thought the Quarians were simular to an arabic culutre of some type with the language, females all wearing burqua's (Spelling) and strange symbols on the walls of there ships.

What does "kela sava" mean for that matter (I know I spelled it wrong...again)?

If you mean 'keelah,' something Tali says when confronted with something particularly horrific or strange, which is most of the time, 'keelah' is the equivalent of 'God' in quarian language, so she's saying, 'Oh God.'

Apperently according to the Mass Effect wiki, it's:

keelah se'lai - saying, might (due to the apostrophe possibly indicating verb-noun conjugation) mean something like "Go with God." or "God is great.

So basically, something akin to the "Live long and prosper" of Star Trek fame.

Ah, Tali...

She's the nerdy girl with a cute voice, and even though you can't see her face she's got a nice body. That pretty much sums it up.

Because looks are the only reason anyone would ever want to have sex with someone.
