wait, since TF2 is now free to play, how will all of the people (like myself) be compensated for already purchasing the game beforehand? or will we not be at all?

In short, Free members have a smaller backpack, can't trade or give gifts, can't find rare/cosmetic items through drops, and have a restricted crafting system.
Anyone who bought the game before this(or got it as a gift) is premium, and nothing changes. They also get a hat.
And to those who feel "cheated", what about all those free updates and maps Valve gave you? Though if you bought the game within the past 6 months, that is kind of crappy, but at least you don't have a free account.

Meet the Medic was... wow... I didn't know Dr. Frankenstein was German. Also, I was kinda expecting Meet the Pyro to be before that for no reason other than this:
Pyro: *seconds of expressive gesturing and muffed talking*
Interviewer (O.S.): ... *whispering* Did you understand anything he said?
Cameraman (O.S.): ...Nope.
Interviewer: Alright, screw this. Let's go interview the Medic.
Pyro: *muffled* WHAT?!
*TF2 ending music, set to the sound of the flamethrower, screams, and Pyro's psycho laugh*

I bought TF2, $60 (AUD) in a brick-and-mortar store before the Halloween Update and got shafted trying to install and update it to play as so many people were pounding the Steam servers for the updates to play for the better part of the next month.
Nearly a year later and close to 470 hours and the fact it's going F2P doesn't phase me a bit and I see it as a GOOD route for Valve to go. Get people hooked on the (albeit limited) F2P version then watch as those who enjoy it pay the (rather miniscule amount of) money to be upgraded to a 'Premium' player to get more out of the game. Champions Online does it, Perfect World does it, EverQuest 2 does it (EQ2 is the Pay-2-Play, EQ2 Extended is the F2P version). <nb: they P2P version of these doe have the $15-per-month factor, but not surprising since they're MMO's>

This was my second favorite meet the team video, right next to the spy. Still, medic is my favorite class.
Anyway, I paid for TF2, and I've spent maybe 150+ hours playing the game, so I feel like I got my moneys worth. Valve fans feel entitled to be compensated for it, but it's ridiculous. There's been tons of free content for TF2, that Valve could have just as easily charged them for. Not to mention this F2P thing will probably bring in more money, so there can be more content for TF2.
