Without animal testing, my brother and 16/20 cousins would be dead.
So how many animal lives equate to one human life?

Still, i hope the real Super Meat Boy is better than the flash ripoff at peta. Part of me died while playing that.
If I would have to kill every monkey in the world to save a man with AIDS, I would do it. Does that clear my moral perspective on this issue? (Don't bother saying my morals are wrong, since they are MY morals...)

What I been watching a friend playing it, it is great. Really addictive and challenging. And if you don't like the meat boy, just Reskin him to be Jellyboy? or beat one of the warpzone levels and unlocks some other character.
The game doesn't focus on him being specifically meat, he could be goo or jelly, or... Snot... Or whatever.
And just thinking about it, we are meat. If I do a game where theres people made of meat (humans) and people made out of wood, and the wood call the Humans meat people. Is that wrong? And the game's name would be Flesh versus Wood, am I insulting the vegetarians then, if according to the story the Flesh people win the war and reclaim their lands.

It is a pixel character that is supposed to be meat.
Try the game and judge for yourself, it is fun and challenging.

Knowing the predilections of many PETA 'supporters' I really really hope Team Meat doesn't get firebombed.

I was already considering buying the game before, but now its a certainty at Christmas.

Merry Christmas Team Meat!

I just absolutely love this. Team Meat has proven their awesomeness.

Even better, though, is how they trolled the angry PETA supporters who got offended by the lightbulb joke: http://twitpic.com/3c542r
Oh god that was great, I actually cried from all the laughter.
I'm so getting Super Meat Boy now.

PeTA: walking, talking evidence that one has to be careful about getting enough proteins and minerals on a vegan diet. *shakes head* And I thought the "Sea Kittens" thing was ripe enough.

PS: Super Meat Boy isn't my type of game, but that doesn't dull my appreciation for Team Meat's work. Well done, folks, and good work rising above the risible.

I loved their twitter response to some random guy who tried to stand up for peta.

@SuperMeatBoy PETA is trying to stand for a cause. belittling them is rude and unbecoming. i'll be telling my friends not to buy your games.
@DH_Jin Please do! The money PETA has thrown to us via promotion we will put in a bag and beat a baby calf to death with it.

I imagine that ratio to be really really skewed towards humans. What with the amount of bacterium our bodies destroy on a daily basis to ensure our continued survival. Or do bacteria not count because they aren't cute enough?
I can't phisically see the suffering of the 'bacteria' being 'killed', and as a human, i'm not condoning it. Forcing a defenseless animal into the kind of shit they do to them is repulsive, and as humans, we just let it slide. "Hey, as long as it's not me, right"?

As for the other 2 replies, i only really read about 2 lines into it and got seriously bored. So, "nice" to whatever ideals you presented.

They should have Tofu Boy as a boss character that faints due to lack of protein.
I'm sure they would have done that if it wasn't for the fact that Team Meat are intelligent enough to know that that would make absolutely no sense what so ever.

Wow, team meat sure responded quick. I only heard about the "super tofu boy" thing last night. All I can say is, "Go team meat!"

While I'm entirely for animals rights (to a point) and against any kind of cosmetic testing, PETA are fucking morons.

Also meat is tasty.

Wait, Edmund McMillan works for Team Meat? Well, that's really cool.

Also, yeah, that is hilarious. Not only is this a very well-deserved nudge, but the fact that the roster of characters is expanding makes Super Meat Boy so much more likely to end up in my collection.

I'm all for animal rights, but PETA are a bunch of bullying, attention-whoring, moralistic ASSHOLES. Breaking into labs and causing HUGE damages by claiming animal rights is unacceptable.
And they kill animals too. Don't forget that.

I'm so sick of PETA giving vegetarians like me a bad name. Not every vego is out to convert others to their way of life, but PETA does it's best to make it look that way. Those eco-terrorists need to be smacked down.

Now all we need is PETA and Scientology to go head to head. Though Scientology would probably win as they have more money.

I'm not exactly sure what Team Meat is, but this is awesome on their part. The thing that always makes me sick about PETA is that they don't give a shit about HUMANS. There's nothing wrong with sticking up for animals, but they passed that point long ago and have become fanatics that would rather millions of humans die than a couple of "sea kittens"....Give me a damn break

As Team Meat is really just goading PETA into keeping the conflict going, the smartest thing for the organization to do would be to keep its collective mouth shut, but whether that's actually going to happen remains to be seen.
Won't happen... At least Team Meat will add some entertainment to this heated battle of hot air.

I played Super Meat Boy on Newgrounds awhile back. WAY too hard to justify me throwing money down on it for my Xbox.

Now? Well, Team Meat.....you've made a sale.

A lot of animal-rights organizations are like that. They don't like animals, they hate humans. It's a profoundly disturbing thing when you see reports of PETA's 90%+ kill rate, or "rescued" healthy animals coming out of an "animal rights organization" half-dead from disease and malnutrition. (Seriously.) Problem is, once you're the go-to guy on whether or not animals are being abused, suddenly the odds of being checked yourself for abuse drop to nothing. After all, you're not going to accuse yourself, right?

That sea kittens crap was just more of their trolling. Though it was funny to someone like me, since when I hear that I think of seagulls. Thank you 07th Expansion for teaching me the Japanese word "umineko"!
