This pretty much demonstrates why Feminism is still strongly needed in Western society. Treating young girls like grades of meat and rating them on their sexual characteristics like it was the only thing they would ever be worth is so grotesquely abhorrent.

It definitely warrants legal action. This idiot caused a great deal of grievous mental and emotional anguish on so many of these girls publicly. That kind of behavior can not be condoned by any authority that hopes to remain credible.
Holy crap this is without a doubt the best trolling I've ever seen. It brought a tear to my eye and you are going to get SO many bites.

100/10 man, I'm saving this message in my hall of fame.

To people saying he didn't break the law, I think this could count as libel (written slander) since he supposedly posted things about their sexual habits that (presumably) weren't true
True. However, depending on what information the discovery process yields that follows such a charge, one should keep in mind that truth is a complete defense against libel. Not saying the kid isn't a douche, but perhaps he was truthful. ^^° Don't hurt me...

Wow. That kid's a dick, but it can't honestly warrant arresting him. Even expulsion seems pretty harsh. Why is this such a big...

According to reports, after distributing the list at his former school the student addressed an "impromptu gathering" of cheering students, during which he danced around and warned that "women are the future, unless we stop them now."

Libel is not a criminal act. It's tortuous (can Sue) but there also needs to be damages in most cases.

You could argue it caused harm to their schoolwork perhaps. But ether way, it's not criminal. Obnoxious, deserving of a good thumping and expulsion, sure, but not illegal.

Well it's offensive libel. He deserves a sentence, though for such a minor thing I wouldn't want him to see imprisonment, probably a fine and a but-load of community service.
It's not libel if it's true. While someone can't put a 1-10 score on a woman's characteristics that everyone agrees with, that also means it can't be true or false. The only way it could be libel is if he said they committed sexual acts which they didn't, and I'm guessing they all did.

Same as above, if it wasn't true, I doubt they'd get all up in arms.

Get over yourself. No crime was committed. It can't "warrant" legal action. And if these girls didn't want their sexual acts known, maybe they shouldn't talk about them or do them.
This quote pretty much makes my argument for me by example.

Thank you for demonstrating privileged belligerence.

The father of one of the girls who appeared on the list said he was pleased that the kid was arrested but expressed concern that a disorderly conduct charge was inadequate for a "very serious offense that affected many people." Nonetheless, he added, "I'm gratified that the investigation continued, and that charges are being filed. I'm hopeful they consider additional charges as they gather more evidence."
Is this guy out of his god damn mind? The disorderly conduct charge is already overkill to the extreme. The kid responsible was expelled, which is exactly what should have happened. Criminal charges for this are pushing it way too far.

Sorry but you can't refute my argument with name calling. Try again next time, with actual facts.

Make a movie about this kid NOW.
Done already. It's called the Social Network, though it ends with the douche being a multimillionaire.

And herein lies the problem. When people see someone doing something bad or jerk-ish, they want them punished, even if there is little to no legal recourse. Was what he did crass? Yes. Criminal? No.

Also, if you make a list like this, there is nothing wrong with that. I kept notes on how people were behaving and what I thought of them. However, I wrote in a code, and kept it to myself. When you pass it around, you are really behaving poorly.

Well first and foremost The Escapist probably doesn't fairly report, at least from the sources you're using, the severity of the comments on the list "Many references insult the girls by race, ethnicity and sexual orientation." So this is personally insulting the people on it with more than stupid nick-names.

He also only rated 50 of the people at his school, which makes it even worse since those effected have clearly been chosen.

Seriously though, almost every male does a similar ranking system in their minds. I guess they should be arrested too. In fact, looking at softcore porn should carry the death penalty. That'll show us not to express ourselves!
What part of "He also printed out hundreds of copies of the list and passed them out at the school during lunch before being stopped by staff." did you not understand?

Way to not take into account other peoples feelings [I'm sure this little stunt was hilarious for the person he rated "The Amazing Bisexual"] and completely missing the entire reason he was expelled. Of course he's going to judge people, it's natural, but what he did is ridiculous and defiantly deserves what he got.

This kid is completely cucko and sure send him to juvi because he has exhibited himself to be completely incapable of respect for his school and his peers.

Arrest and further punishment for this kid? That's a HELL FUCKING NO!
Why not exactly; it's not like he's going to go to jail, just juvenile court. Which is fair; an example should be set.

Which is exactly why it's a problem, you're assuming they did something just because he printed.

He needs to be able to prove it's true or it's libel and a crime.

Jail seems to be a little too much but then again I like it when dumb high school kids get in trouble for the dumb things they do. And if we're lucky he'll come out of jail being less of an ass.

So ... just being an offensive smart-ass jerk is enough to get you arrested now? But they can't get a ban on assault weapons.

So, I guess that ends the dreams of many up-and-coming comedians. Guess they'll have to join some sort of paramilitary group, instead.

The U.S. is getting to be one seriously fucked-up country.

..Isn't this how Facebook eventually started out, if the Social Network is in any way realistic to the situation otherwise?

Also, waste of police resources. Slap on the wrist and a fine? Sure. Jail time and actual legal hammering? Give me a break.

He's definitely a douchebag. I understand the victim's dad's feelings about arrest not being enough, but he's emotionally charged right now. Really, expulsion should have been enough punishment.
