Let's look on the bright side. It's his kidney, he can do what he want with it, and some poor person dying of cancer or kidney failure gets an organ. Darwin and Altruism at work.

Don't feel sorry for him. Natural selection. That's all. Stupid people who don't think logically do stuff like this and I have no sympathy.

The fact that I'm doing a report on shady organ trafficking in China at the same time when I'm reading this made me lol.

Anyway, what a fool. Selling a part of your body to a questionable source in order to buy a random unnecessary gadget has to be one of the dumbest things a person has ever done.

I kind of want to see the look on his face when the iPad 3 comes out.

Maybe he'll sell part of his liver...

For some reason I expected this to be in either China or India before I even read the whole article. I know you only need one kidney to live but the ipad is not worth selling one.

Just...well...what if that kidney saves a life? He should be given far more than just an Ipad, shouldn't he? It's almost too humble to be sane.

Apple consumers, the definition of stupid.
Honestly, you could replaced "iPad 2" with any other hot piece of technology and nobody would be any less surprised.
Apple is different in the way it heavily exploits the bandwagon phenomenon.

An experiment showed that in one individual's case, Apple products and the likes triggered the same areas of the brain as religion.

I would sell a kidney for money (and $3k is no coughing matter)

I wouldnt pay for a damn iPad but I sure as hell would get something nice with the moolah!
$3K is piss all to risk ongoing health problems, I would rather work hard for a month.

you earn 3k a month?
Actually, I earn more than that, but $3K(or a little bit under) is about the average monthly income in Australia.

Honestly Escapist, my standards of peoples intelligence is just going down every single time you do a news post like this.
I know! He could have invested it in the stock market for much more later down the road. Testicles also get a much higher price, and you only need one (though is the iPad 2 really worth being half a man?)

Hopefully this is an isolated incident. I can't imagine this happening more than a few times.

No one in their right mind would have done this.
He's 17. Case closed.
I make a point not to judge people, but by the age of 17 a child should know that you don't think like this.

By the time I, and everyone I know, was 17 I already knew:

1. Don't drink excessively.
2. Don't do drugs.
3. Be warry of strangers.
4. Respect your body.
5. Watch both ways before crossing lanes.

Now you can't expect someone by the age of 17 to not know this, he is a year away from being 18, at that point, he should know better than this.
It's just a joke, mate.
