No way do I spend 31 hours online. Well, I suppose if you take off the time spent gaming online, and then the "half-online-browsing-forums" you bring the total down to about 35-40.

And Avida, you're absolutly right. No-one spends that long doing homework.

I think it's time for an Escapist experiment. We all fill in a diary of time spent online, doing what etc. and report back at the end of the week. It'd be interesting to see how "teenagers" differs from "gamers"
Now that is a good idea, you should do that.
Right, I've posted the thread, it's now up to you lot to contribute

...Only 30 minutes of TVTropes?
It deserves more.
Not that I visit anymore ever since I got over my addiction.
EDIT: Also it's a girl. You can tell by the shorts: No guy could wear shorts like that. Also the legs.
...Or else he's a crossdresser.
You're right. It's more like +60 minutes once I get on a roll...

Damn my thirst for useless knowledge...

Oh and I thought it was a dude because of the face...
Actually it's really useful if you want to be a writer or just really obnoxious at the movies.
"[Trope name!]"
"SHUT UP WE HEARD YOU ALREADY"
"*silent, unloved sobs*"
Or if you want to be a dick and ruin Animes and such for your friends. :p

At the moment it feels like I spend 31 hours a day on the pc...

All whilst listening to the Ricky Gervais Podcasts, all the Bill Hicks shows and stranger still the radio shows of Sherlock Holmes and the Shadow.

Um why isn't internet gaming up there? Or browsing cool sites like "The Escapist." Stupid study has too little a demographic to be even considered seriously.

WAIT. Just. A. Second.

31 hours. Including time spent hiding sites they visited from their parents.

Do these kids have internet access in their rooms? Away from where their parents can see what they are doing?

Am I the only one that can see something wrong with that?

My kids will have only one place they can be on the internet. The computer in the front room. Not only that, but if their parents had a brain, they'd know that they can configure most internet routers to log websites.

Seriously, parents are fucking morons these days. No wonder kids are such irresponsible selfish pricks.

That's it? Just today I spent 6 hours at my friend's house watching youtube video.
I can't even begin to describe what a waste of time that is.

I'm online minimum of 8 hrs, cause I work in an internet company. I don't consider that I that is too much and I have Internet addiction. But for a child, that's a different story. It means less time playing outside with friends, less time doing kids stuff. That means less time playing outside with friends, less time doing kids stuff. It does take away ones childhood. Personally, I control my son's activity with the help of parental control software Ez Internet Timer http://www.internettimer.net. I think parents need to prevent addictive Internet use through effective cultivation of sound principles about life.

Oh no,not the daily mail, most depressing newspaper I ever read,I only ever saw one copy in my week over in England,it had a something on how England was becoming a police state...

my first impressions of the daily mail is they love to be the bearers of bad news.
