You know, I'd be totally fine with this if I could just download a billion mods for this game. The genre (someone mentioned "world building," so I'm going with that) really lends itself to mods, and I could easily see myself being able to do some quick 2D objects (Minecraft is in the unfortunate 3rd dimension, and I never learned how to use any free 3D modeling tools [and am waaaay too lazy for the game of "math the points"]). It's kinda sad that the devs aren't willing to throw the community a bone here--Terraria is a stupidly fun game. Unfortunately, once everyone runs out of things to do, it'll disappear into the ether on the PC (here's some optimism that the console team will keep updating their version regularly). Games like this don't really don't have any staying power without mods (unless someone, somewhere, thinks they can make this an E-sport; it's certainly not winning any awards with its story here), or at least frequent content dumps (free or otherwise).
And to the console users who are saying "Get over it, it's just $10! Entitled, entitled, entitled.": Developers have broken promises to you as well. (Some of) you were just as angry then as PC users are now. Telling us we're entitled elitists doesn't make developers think about the promises they make. Getting pissed with us and demanding better services at least shows we're all on the same page when it comes to quality.
Lastly, fellow frustrated PC users: Next time we get a port with more content than the consoles--despite that content being promised to consoles--let's remember this and tell developers to keep their damned promises, even if it's not directly benefiting us. Let's get pissed off with console users.
Enough with PC vs. console, let's all fight together for gaming, damnit.
