Terraria Creator Confirms No New PC Content

Well obviously we haven't been to the same terraria forum because everytime a update took longer than people expected a shitstorm started. Griefing was also happening all the time in internet games. So yeah great community really.

So, chalk me up with the number of Terraria players who are disappointed but understanding. Does that number even exist?
I don't have a console, I don't really have the money to spare for a new game even if I did, and I very much enjoyed Terraria. But I also very much enjoyed Terraria. It was a well made game, and it earned its cost for me, even if it hasn't earned quite as much as some other things. I'd love for there to be new content, but the developer can't run himself ragged on something.
And really, I'm sure that he's getting some money, but I'd be really surprised if the reason for handing it over wasn't "I want to see it get to more players than it did before", not "ooh, I can make some money!!!" I'd think more of the money as a gift for seeing his IP get altered some from what he once crafted it into.

You are able to play more than one game on an Xbox, and unless you hardly play any games anyway, I can guarantee everyone has at least one console exclusive that they would want if they owned a console.

Not really, no. As a player primarily of 4X and RTS games, a few RPGs on the side with a couple of indie titles like FTL and Minecraft, consoles have very little in the way of exclusives I'm interested in - with the few attempts at RTS or 4X games on them having failed pathetically, RPGs easily controlling better on the PC [Note: RPG, not action RPG] and generally being released on PC as well, and the few indie games I am interested in being on the PC.
Things like the newer Halos, GoW - both god and gears - Uncharted, any racing games or pretty much anything I've seen as a console exclusive - and a lot of what I've seen in the way of multiplatform games.
Of course, I don't know every single console exclusive out there, but even then I doubt I'd find more than 1 or 2 games to add, which would still not justify a $300+ purchase that I'll use far less than my PC with all games I have even a chance of playing multiplayer on, let alone the number of single player games I have. Consoles simply don't offer much, if anything, in terms of games I'd actually go out and buy. Its the reason I haven't owned one for several years, and why even at friends houses I generally bring my laptop over and play LAN instead of jumping on their console for splitscreen multiplayer. Sure, there are exclusives, but to my tastes they're nothing compared to what I already have on PC.

Since the dev is done with the PC version with no updates, why not release the source code so people can make mods? Why make promises and then not keep them. Why bait current fans then give them the finger? Because he is a sellout and a bit of a dick.

To be honest if he just let people make mods no one would give a crap. It's because people love terraria and because it had so much potential that people are pissed that he purposly left it handicapped.

What exactly did we get promised other then more content for the game? Seriously other then the bosses, the hardmode and a general promise for more content all of which we got, I don't remember any other promises. I'll agree that the source code would be nice but I don't see why that's an argument point as to why he can't provide a multiplatform release.

I do think he should release the dev tools as well, I just wouldn't go as far as to call him a sellout for because of the console release.

Well console always steals the cool shit of pc! I wanna have the new updates for terraria but buying a xbox + a new copy of the game is waaaaayyyyy to expensive! (And controllers suck...) JUST GIVE US THE SAME UPDATES! The developers of terraria are just to lazy to update it for pc!!!
