There isn't much more to say about it really. Now that we've reached the point at which apparently Tetris has to be made better by inclusion of online multiplyaer, good graphics and enhanced sound I think we can officially say that graphics and multiplayer mean more than gameplay.

Tetris is perhaps the greatest example of a timesink ever created, and now it's going to be the world's most pointless gaming timesink.

Rule of thumb: If a Tetris game isn't made by Nintendo, it's not worth bothering with.

Ok adding more to that, I did see it coming. After all the Xbox 360 has Tetris Splash if I recall rightly so a PS3 version was pretty much next.

Wow. Never did I think I would see a full trailer, complete with flashy transitions and bright, stylized text, for Tetris. Much less 1080p, 5.1 Surround Sound Tetris. If they charge more than a couple of bucks for this, regardless of the polish, it's just silly. I can play the same game with the same music and same modes on just about every device I can plug into my wall. Hell, I bet I can play it on my toaster!

It looks too much like beweweled now. Which is a shame. There's no creativity.

Lots of bright colours, flashing lights and fun sounds. Pretty much what a casino is, really. And just as addictive. Maybe not as damaging.

/shrug. It's excessive, but I don't see a problem with it. They want to release a highly polished (read: shiny) version of a classic game, that's fine. To it's credit, ignoring the needless graphical upgrade, some of the multiplayer modes could tons of fun. As long as it's not overpriced, I might get it.
