The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. There was a glitch were you couldn't get past. That game was hell.

XF-5700 Mantis, it was a space combat sim that used realistic physics, which made things very, very difficult. I managed to beat the main campaign, but the expansion pack finally got me.

I don't think I ever beat Earthsiege, either. Good game, though.

Sub-Terrania on the Sega Genesis, a game very similar to the modern "Pixeljunk Shooter" except far more difficult.

Donald Duck Quack Attack. It was the bane of my liffe for a good 6 f*****g years. I did it though. Victory never felt so sweet in the end.

This is going to sound sad. Horribly sad.

Dreamcast, Sonic Adventure. Skip to the 1:00 mark or so, where he gets the shoes. Now, about twenty seconds after that, where there's the trail of rings?

At age 7ish, I got stuck on that. I spent days trying to figure it out, before finally giving up. Three years passed before I got back to it. Another three before I went back to it again, finished Big's story mode (stupid fishing minigame...) and beat the entire game. Stupid, I know. Not sure how I failed to get that.

Kid Niki Radical Ninja.

It was a NES game that was hard as hell for me growing up.
I played it again this year and beat it without losing a life.
Guess my platforming skills have improved over the years.

Jak 2: Renegade on the PS2. I never could defeat the last boss, but I came back recently and was able to kill him. It was made all the sweeter by the fact he went out with a literal bang.

All of them. I didn't actually start beating games until a few years ago. As much as I love video games, I'm afraid I'm not that good at them.

Spyro, the original one, but then again I didn't have a memory card so this isn't exactly fair on me.

Runner up would be PilotWings 64. It had been my strong desire to unlock the Skydiving mode as my father was a skydiver. But to unlock it you had to get gold in every normal event. The hang gliding always kicked my ass.

But the winner is definitely Shadows of the Empire 64. I spent weeks off and on trying to beat the Sewers but the brightness on my screen was so low there were several spots where it was pitch black. I finally beat the sewers only to have the robot that never dies (The Gladiator Droid) in the Palace rape me until I gave up.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
Too damned long, and bosses too tedious, taking hundreds of shots.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. I played it when Majora's Mask came out. Couldn't beat it because of the motherfucking Water Temple. Put it down for a few years, came back to it and realized that the floating platform in the middle tower held the key I needed all those years ago. I felt so stupid. ._.

The final boss of FFX is one of the things that makes me rage (I'm a youngin so I never really played any of the extreamly hard games of the past). He just has so many things that can screw you over in a short peroid of time....
