Do they do anything other than Armored Core?

I would have to go with VALVe and Blizzard.

Sadly, only Valve has my seal of authenticity at the moment, all of the moaning and groaning over their games has been because of stuff they ADDED. Valve still hasn't screwed me over with a bad game, or even a bad DEAL for games yet. Only other one that I might consider would be Frictional games (Penumbra and Amnesia series), but they just haven't put up enough material and cost me too many good pairs of pants to judge yet.

CD Projekt RED look promising, but they've only made the Witcher games so it could go anywhere from here. Honestly you can't always count on any developer. They all eventually betray you, maybe not always intentionally, but it happens. There are a lot of good developers, even great ones, but you can't always count on them.

DICE - I have yet to play a Battlefield game I did not like. Also, don't forget Mirror's Edge. Such a wonderful developer.

Platinum - Yes, their games have been a little on the divisive side, but I admire a developer who sticks to their vision and makes quality games, which are two things I have come to expect from the folks at Platinum Games.

Criterion - Another dev with commitment to an idea and ability to create a great game.

For me, its Insomniac, Sucker Punch (which seem to have a lot of love on this forum)

and I can't forget Clover Studios. Thank you, Clover Studios, for Okami, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2, and Godhand. You are already missed...

Rockstar, Bioware and Bethesda.

And anyone saying that "EA has ruined Bioware" or something similar has their head up their ass. DA2 was fantastic.

Blizz, Bioware and Valve are the holy trinity for me.

All quality games from them all....and yes Bioware with the whole DA2 thing....I liked it. Yes they used scenery over and over again but it made sense for the setting.

Gaijin games.
BIT.TRIP stands alone in my mind as the distilled essence of great gaming. They have never released a bad game, and innovate with the same ease that mere mortals like you and I and Valve Software breathe. The experience of playing BIT.TRIP.RUNNER is like falling in love.

Yeah, I like their stuff a bit.

Bioware is the only company that hasn't disappointed me(other than a company with 1 game, or only 1 series of games), without making up for it with some goodies (I'm looking at you, Neverwinter Nights!)

Obsidian is close, but Dungeon Siege 3 was really damn Meh. Also Atlus is up there with their SMT games, but I haven't played Devil Summoner or finished DDS, and Persona 1 was terribad in terms of combat.
You see I was all prepared to say Obsidian and you have to bring up Dungeon Siege 3. It hadn't crossed my mind because it isn't the sort of game I associate with Obsidian and also it isn't the type of game I play. When you say Obsidian I think "Deep RPG that is flawed in some way but manages to overcome those flaws to be one of my favorite games". Every Obsidian RPG is a solid nugget of gold, with a bit of shit smeared on the surface, but still a solid nugget of gold.

Otherwise I trust Troika, and Looking Glass, these guys will never make a bad game.
Yeah, Troika and Looking Glass definitely won't make a bad game...or another game period :(

DICE, probably the only FPS developer that cares about it's players anymore, they always listen to the critcism (which isn't a lot btw) and their games are just phenominal to play.

People say Bungie are the same, but they ruined Halo for me with Reach so DICE is left standing.

Rockstar. They always make the best games but I don't like the realism approach there trying to take instead of making the game fun to play like in GTAIV were your vehicle is made out of milk, you have a protagonist who looks like his balls got twisted the wrong way round and a friend who will not stop calling me to go bowling!. They should follow the route of san andreas instead, parachuting onto old ladies, eating until you throw-up and just allowing you the freedom to do what you want. Other then that there games are perfect.

valve is pretty trustworthy but my answer would have to be atlus. they are the only one company where i can look at a game ive never heard of before and go, "well its made by atlus, so its probably pretty damn good"

So, I'm pretty sure most people here have a few, or one dev that they can always count on to make quality products. I'm pretty most people here will say Valve, or Bioware pre-DA2.
For me, it's Rockstar, I mean, GTA Series, LA Noire, Max Payne, LEMMINGS! I don't think I've played a ROckstar game I didn't like, I mean, they even made a badass table tennis game!
I can ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS count on Platinum Studios and CAPCOM.

They've only let me down once and that was with Devil May Cry 2 which I doubt exists. It's only a rumor. We all know it was just Devil May Cry 1, 3 and 4 right?....right?. RIGHT!?!

VALVe is the only company with no strikes for me anymore. HL2ep3 isn't a strike, it's them not stepping up to the plate.
Bioware was until Dragon Age 2. They're still good by me, but this thread was about flawless developers. Everyone makes mistakes.

Valve and Bioware. Admittedly I haven't played either of the L4D series of games but I'm sure they're good for people with friends.

I haven't played a single bad Bioware game, but again, I haven't played all off them. However I can safely say that I adore all games in both Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises. Yes, I said all. ALL! ALL!!!

I'd have to say Bethesda for this. This is a company that really does not know how to make an RPG that sucks.

You, my new friend (with an awesome avatar from AC4), are correct. Chromehounds was a horde of fun, and was genuinely saddened when the multiplayer was shut down. Considering I generally despise online multiplayer for most games, that's saying quite a bit.

VALVe doesn't care about their players any more? I would like to see some evidence for this.
