I didn't think you had that kind of brutality in you, Chris.....
Even among the alien-looking Kerricks making it seem more surreal, that's pretty bad.......

While that may be, I'm confused as to when 'serious business' meant something like that!SharPhoe said:Awww, shucks. It's totally possible for Kerricks to be SRS BZNS when I want them to be.
Thank you. Have you read the story (in progress) [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/18.110578.3413768] that that picture goes to yet?Portal Maniac said:While that may be, I'm confused as to when 'serious business' meant something like that!SharPhoe said:Awww, shucks. Either way, I LOVE how you did the blood effect. Nice job, mate.
I loved the second one, it took me a while to realize it was a streetlight.DuplicateValue said:I've only just started getting interested in photography, so some criticism/feedback would be great. =]
These are probably my favourites so far:

I know they're not great, but I think it's a start at least.
Perspective is kinda wonky, and that hall is eerily long. In some cases it adds to the atmosphere, but in places like the stove it looks a bit off. Good work though. Your work with facial expression is amazing, especially with "Get Out".SharPhoe said:And for another example of SRS BZNS that I'm pretty sure you may or may not have seen before:
The only minor issue I can see with the second one is that the way he's walking looks a bit awkward. Maybe it's just that white line that's shooting out behind the foot which makes it look like his pattern of walking defies physics. Nice drawings as always, though.Archemetis said:I did some Chapter covers for my more story-based comic today.
Berethond is right. The second one is the most interesting. The other two are nice photos, but the silhouette at dawn/dusk has been done to death in photography. If you can find a way to make it your own, go ahead and do it, I just find them less interesting than the middle photo.DuplicateValue said:I've only just started getting interested in photography, so some criticism/feedback would be great. =]

You know, speaking of that, I was wondering... I have my own camera now, and even though I know I could never do any decent photography work, what're the biggest "cliche" no-nos of photo subjects?Fightgarr said:...The other two are nice photos, but the silhouette at dawn/dusk has been done to death in photography...
High-exposure photos of faces. Cliched silhouettes. There aren't very many pictures of powerlines that I've seen recently that have ever interested me. I dunno, I'm not photographer, I just know what I like. Talk to Diagonal Horizontality (sp?) or Pi Fighter or... shit I'm forgetting all the photographers now that it's actually relevant.SharPhoe said:You know, speaking of that, I was wondering... The artist in me?
I'm a photographer, but I don't publish my work on the Net.
I'm also a great Film editor and Camera Man.
Gah, it would figure that I would ask a photography question when the best people for answering it are gone.Fightgarr said:[Talk to Diagonal Horizontality (sp?) or Pi Fighter or... shit I'm forgetting all the photographers now that it's actually relevant.
I really haven't kept track of who leaves and stays. The amount of attention I pay to the community beyond Escape Artists and IRC is rather laughable. I can't even keep track of who the viral posters are these days.SharPhoe said:Gah, it would figure that I would ask a photography question when the best people for answering it are gone.
Then again, Pi hasn't been around in ages... I don't think he even comes here anymore.
I'm referring to here, anyway. He's been gone practically half a year. It's a shame, but everyone leaves sometime or another.Fightgarr said:I really haven't kept track of who leaves and stays. Sorry then. Could you at least keep the names out. Somewhat humiliating. Anyways. I shoot whatever fancies my interests barring nudes. I'm in the woods a lot so I have plenty of panoramas. I borrow my Dad's 40D when I'm birding. A 400m lens serves well for the purpose. And yeah, keep away from cliches and mess around with settings.Fightgarr said:High-exposure photos of faces. [HEADING=1]Quick note to new posters:[/HEADING]
If you're posting here, I'd prefer you were either contributing material to the thread or providing comments and crits (C&C). Obviously I'm not a mod or ruler of the thread or anything, but as an active member of the Escapist artist community, I find it annoying when we get posts like this:

He's still here, he just changed his name to Diagonal Horizontality.SharPhoe said:Gah, it would figure that I would ask a photography question when the best people for answering it are gone.Fightgarr said:[Talk to Diagonal Horizontality (sp?) or Pi Fighter or... shit I'm forgetting all the photographers now that it's actually relevant.

Names removed from my post. You can edit your quote of me to eliminate the names in that one. Look, I know I was being a bit of an asshole. That post just happened to be on the page. The reason I singled out that post is because its the kind of post we get pretty frequently, where its something where someone could contribute given that they have artistic talents, but don't. Look, I understand the whole 'not sharing on the internet' thing. I have never put up any of my actual drawings or paintings on the net because I feel that there is something lost in the translation from one medium to another. I do, however, have a lot of time spent doing digital painting, which is why I contribute those. But even if I didn't, I would still probably be commenting and critiquing others' work. To clarify: The reason I singled you out is because I am interested in what you have to contribute to the thread, you just didn't in that post. I'm sorry that I come off as an elitist here, I just really care about this thread.Halaxis said:Sorry then. Could you at least keep the names out. Somewhat humiliating. Anyways. So the two people I recommended he talk to are one in the same, eh? I thought that DH changed his name from something else, or was that something else a name change from Pi Fighter?Berethond said:He's still here, he just changed his name to Diagonal Horizontality.
