Lol just 2 days ago I went and saw Eric clapton/Roger Daltrey. It wasn't a band, but the concert was amazing.

NIN and Peaches, but I only ever went to one concert, a NIN one. (Peaches opened, along with another band I did not much care for)

The Pixies were mindblowing, even if they barely said a word the whole show. Just sounded so good. And did 6 encores. It was an amazing night.
Pretty much what I wanted to say.

I was very impressed by Iron Maiden too, I don't listen to the albums, but they sure as hell can play.

Probably Nightwish a couple years ago. My first concert, and it was awesome.

Incubus. It was absolutely mind blowing, in every sense of the word. I'm now 60% less intelligent because of them.

Kyuss. Sex Pistols. Black Sabbath. Queen. Kiss. U2. Prince. Sigur Ros with about 2 dozen people - oh, and Michael Jackson on the 'Bad' tour in 1988 when he still actually could be bothered to sing live, and still looked like Michael Jackson.

Um, Frank Turner. Such a great Atmosphere. Im seeing the Gaslight Anthem in the same place in November, and Muse in September so maybe they'll step it up.

ermm Skindred. Never head of em before n they supported real big fish. Mix of metal/punk/reggae/drum n bass. Was just fucking wicked music, so much energy.

Unfortunately their CD palls in comparison to their live show.
I'm seeing them at the end of this month, I'm hoping they don't disappoint.

In terms of emotions raised during the show, it'd have to be Nine Inch Nails.
In terms of crowd participation, it'd be Five Finger Death Punch.
For mind-blowing songs, it's a tie between Machine Head and Slayer.

Although I have a feeling the first and third may get blown away by Iron Maiden at Sonisphere.
If Iron Maiden at Download 2007 was anything to go by they will be fucking awesome. Though I think it'll be a tie between Rammstein and Maiden for best stage show / presence .

But back to the OP: I've got quite a few best bands i've seen live:

Machine Head in 2004, first gig I went to and I was blown away by how brilliant it was

Pendulum last year at Download Festival was pretty awesome too, never really listened to them before that gig, then they played and I was blown away by how good they were.

And then theres Turisas who I saw two years back, I liked their music before hand and saw them live once before at Download Festival 2007 but the sound was too shit which made me think that they weren't that great live, however I got given a ticket by a friend to go and see them in London.. I went and holy hell were my misgivings about them being unable to play live wrong, they were frigging awesome.

Also of worthy note: At The Gates @ Bloodstock in 2008 one of their last gigs and just absolutely awesome

Tough choice, I've seen only a few bands, but I'll have to go with my favorites: AC/DC, Metalica and KoRn.

Definitely AC/DC. They're the only group I have seen. However I'm going to see Iron Maiden, Stone Temple Pilots and Aerosmith this summer so we'll if it changes (I doubt it will)

In Flames is awesome live. Anders Fridén is one of very few people who can sound better live than in the studio.

Hello fellow Escapists, i recently went to see AC/DC live and they were epic. So, I was thinking, what is the best bad you have seen?
I saw them as well in May. I sang and jumped all of the time.
The next day I was barely able to walk and speak.

I've only been to 4 concerts. A Jimmy Buffett concert, a Collin Raye concert, a Tanglefoot concert and a Moody Blues concert.

And the winner, hands down, was the Moody Blues.

Sigur Rós, at Glastonbury 2003.

The sun was just setting, the rain was a light, refreshing drizzle after a very hot day, the music was the most beautiful and inspiring I've ever heard. And we were passing round some very nice joints.
