Plus, how does this make an exciting movie? They stare at a box and decide to after two hours?

No.

I don't have the right to kill anyone else for my personal gain.

Also, half the people on this thread saying "Yeah, I would push it because I'm badass!", wouldn't push it.

Last night, I watched a mind fuck of a movie called " The Box". The plot of this movie is a married couple is having some problems with debt. One day, a man with a disfigured face came to there home with a box. The old man said that if you pushed the button in the box, someone in the world, who you don't and will never know will die,but you get 1 million dollars. I'm not going to spoil what they did, but the movie really is going to mind fuck you.

So, if the same man came to your house, would you press the button? Someone you don't know will die, but you get a million dollars. ( The deal is legit. You just can't tell anyone about it)

I wouldn't... I live comfortably, and I guess I wouldn't be able to take that I was the cause of someone's death. Besides, that mill will be gone in a few days by the time I'm thorugh with it.
also from what year is the movie?

What if the person who you killed was a pilot who was flying 200 orphaned kids somewhere and the plane crashed on Jurassic park. Then I bet you would feel really bad about pushing that button.

No not at all, couldn't live with murdering someone. They maybe a murder or something if you were lucky but it could just as easily be a kid or someone with a family or any number of inocent people who don't deserve to die.

No. Because, technically, that "Somebody" could be me.

But really, I don't care that much about money. It's not that important to me. It's nice, but that doesn't mean it's everything. I'm a man of simple pleasures.

Fuck yeah. As long as it's that simple, and has none of the weird shit that happens later in the movie (i.e. push button, someone I don't know dies, moneyz for me). Than sure. I hate most people with good reason, and the world is overpopulated as is. Besides, I can always be optimistic and assume either the person didn't really die, or nobody cared, or it was painless, or they were a rapist, or what have you.

No. It can't be you. One of the details of the scenario is it will be somebody you don't know.

The people would die, and after that you could feel good knowing that because they died they will feel no more pain evar again.

I get a million dollars for each person I cull from the world's human population.

How in the hell is this not a win-win? I mean, sure, I might eventually kill someone within three degrees of separation from myself, which we'd have to suffer through for a little while, but the chances of that are extremely slim. Then it'd be back to pressing the button.

Assuming its absent of some moronic existentialist interpretation of the word "know," as in, one can never truly know another person or themselves, I'd be a multi-trillionaire and half the world's population (and thus, problems) would be gone. Cleanup would be a *****, though.

Given the twist as to the purpose of the Box experiment in the film it's half funny and half terrifying how many people say yes.

I definitely would not press it. The mastermind behind this kind of deal usually doesn't hold up their end of the bargain, they just expose your true nature with a moral dilemma and then completely screw you over when you've proved that you're willing to trade money for life. Either that, or it would just kill me straight away.

Isn't this a rooster teeth sketch? Or maybe they saw the movie and then made the sketch. IDK.

Anyway, NO. I wouldn't. Cause I wouldn't want someone who I don't know killing me off.
