Isn't it obvious? The Wii! What the hell is the deal with that stick, that Yahtzee has so brilliantly illustrated, you have to practically whack off with whenever you want to get anything done. How can you play a game on a stick?!
And what kind of controller only works if you point directly at the tV? A BAD ONE.

The Original XBox controller was terrible. Way too big and heavy.

The Wiimote is fine for me but I can understand how it would be difficult for spastic assholes to use it, it just requires more of an awareness of how you move your hands and what effect it will have in the game.

The Gamecube controller was perfect for me, nice size with good comfort in my hands..

However I remain a PC Gamer.

I liked the N64 trident controller. Games rarely used the Dpad so you'd just have your hands on the middle and right grips.

But jesus, look at this shit.

The Dreamcast. I loved the system, but I hated the controller.
Bulky & akward, it was a terrible design.

And for everyone in this thread.
I LOVED THE N64 CONTROL

the ps3 controller makes my hands ache after a while. I think it is because I have really long fingers so I have to hold it weird.

Counting the ones that actually "worl", and are well-known, I'd go with the N64 controller. I couldn't even stand to play Goldeneye for more than 5 minutes because of the controller.

If you're just counting this generation's controllers:

Wii>360>PS3

PS3 controller is the more awkward of the 3. It's not bad, but I wish they'd swap the left analog's location with the D-Pad.

I loved the original GameCube controller. However when that lawsuit happened over the wavebird (and similar wireless controllers), I had no choice when I wanted to upgrade to a wireless GC controller. There was only one controller to buy.

http://www.ebgames.com/common/images/lbox/802044b.jpg here's another pic.

It looked cute on the shelves, yet my hands overlap awkwardly underneath the weeny controller; I cannot finger the buttons well enough; and who in blazes designed this thing so the start button sits impossibly between the two raised thumb sticks? You cannot hit the start button unless you release with your right hand, have a long thumb nail, and press it with nail facing vertical. Besides that, even the part that plugs into the gamecube (/wii) is a hefty piece of junk.

I would have to say this controller.

http://www.mobygames.com/images/controllers/fairchild_img.gif

Its from the Fairchild Channel F seen there.

It only has one 4 way analogue stick which you push in to use its only button which would be really hard to keep doing and get your direction right and would probably hurt after awhile.

The underside:

And this this was supposed to compact a console controller and a keyboard into a... controller-like monstrosity.

But the N64 controller is the one I truly hate, but 007 Goldeneye was so good it didn't matter.

The Dreamcast controller was pretty bad. The D-pad wasn't very good, the joystick was flimsy, the controller itself was big and bulky, and you couldn't reasonably use the joystick and D-pad in the same game. Good system, but the controller....

I'm a little concerned by the SIX SHIFT KEYS. But that's not important. What's important is now I can do my taxes with a controller that connects via AMAZING! B-Type USB plug technology while I charge my iPod with the handy USB port.

Am I reading the back of it right? It connects to the computer via USB Type B plug, and then has a Type A receptacle for accepting another USB device? Is that a trackball? Where did you find this thing?

I would say the Wii controller is pretty ridiculous, however I haven't used it before. The only controller I've been using recently is the Xbox 360 wireless controller. Overall it's great, but when its batteries are starting to run out of energy, the controller just fucks up respectively.

The PS1 controller. That thing would fly out of my sweaty hands so much... Other than that it was dependable as hell. It was just too damn slick...
Wait a second, you sweat while you play video games?...Would you like to start going on some walks with me, because that sounds far from healthy.

Edit: Also, I would go with the N64 controller. The three prongs just made things awkward.

to hell with all you naysayers of the N64! It's still one of the most comfortable controllers I've ever held. I'd much rather use it than the Wii's VC controller.

Of course it wasn't meant for 3 armed mutants you fools, it was designed that way to accommodate a wide variety of game types and configurations, almost always selectable in the games. It's called innovation.

While the ps1 controller made my thumbs feel like they had RSI after a while I'd probably have to vote for the original Xbox controller. Friggin' HUGE. Luckily the controller-s they replaced it with was MUCH nicer.

Analog sticks on the GC and Wii. No questions I hate them, and their sticky non-responsive args.
