but really the Wii is the worst purly because it lies about what it does.
No it doesn't. Nintendo never stated that the Wii remote was a 1:1 motion device. It was never claimed as one, except by wishful dreamers of the media. All they said was "Hey, if you move the controller, it does stuff!" That's precisely what it did.
Ahhh, fanboy alert. If they are going to release motion control then it better bloody work, thats like saying that Xbox never acctually promised better graphics, they didn't but it is a given, it should be there.
It does work. Quite well, actually. I shake the controller, and a response happens on screen. I use motion to control the game. Motion control. Yes, it would have been nice to have 1:1 at the start, but that would have driven the price of the console to astronomical hieghts.
You flick your wrist and something unrelated happens on screen, its not even close to motion control, and is therefore not a good controller. If it was expensive and 1:1 then it would be fine.
So since pushing a button hardly relates tothe action it pertains to, that means that Button control does not exist, and that any controller ever concieved fails? I'm not sure I follow your logic.

And I'm not talking like the $20 it costs to get a Wii Motion+ now. I mean a triple digit increase in price.
Its not how great other controllers are, for me its what the Wii dosen't offer that is a shame. Ill stick with a mouse and keyboard for now.
Okay then. Have fun!
Is Wii your only console?
No. I also own a Dreamcast. I had a 360, but my brother took it. I plan on getting a new one soon, and possibly a PS3 when Heavy Rain comes out.

And this this was supposed to compact a console controller and a keyboard into a... controller-like monstrosity.

But the N64 controller is the one I truly hate, but 007 Goldeneye was so good it didn't matter.
... That is obscene.

Can you say anything other than the original Xbox controller? You have to be able to palm a basketball to reach the fuckin' shoulder buttons.

The PS3s shoulders are terrible, but otherwise it's good. The sticks could be a little stiffer though.

I'd say Gamecube. My god that thing is unwieldy.

Of the modern consoles? The PS controller. Maybe it's just my overly long fingers, but I really feel like I'm playing with some cheap toy that's going to break if I press the buttons too hard. At least the 360 controller is sturdy. And the Wiimote looks silly, but it's actually a nifty piece of kit.

PS3 controller. Yes, I know it has sixaxis and it's familiar but the design is susceptable to breakage (it was a problem with the ps1 and 2 as well).

It's piss poor that the shape of the controller hasn't evolved at all. It's definately the worst controller of the consoles I own and it isn't really worth commenting on those I don't. So yeah, I'm voting the ps3 controller (I'd go so far as to say I'd have prefered the infamous 'boomerang' design).

Also, I liked the original fat Xbox controllers *ducks bricks. Oh, and the N64 controller was damn well the best console controller of it's generation! God I loved my N64.

N64, I played an old N64 again after 9 years and I kept trying different ways of holding the controller and none of them worked well.
CDI is the worst though.

Aside from the obvious days of video game controller experimentation, I would choose the gamecube controller, it's like they purposefully tried to hide buttons from you and make the controller feel and look like you squeezed a wad of clay hard.

well I always found the xbox and the xbox360's controllers to bulky for my tastes but the playstation controllers are very ergonomic(Sp?)

The PS1 controller. That thing would fly out of my sweaty hands so much... Other than that it was dependable as hell. It was just too damn slick...
Wait a second, you sweat while you play video games?...Would you like to start going on some walks with me, because that sounds far from healthy.

Edit: Also, I would go with the N64 controller. The three prongs just made things awkward.
My palms would sweat when I was little, yes. It was a combination of frustration/excitement/adrenalin and heat. And I get sweaty palms when I'm around a lot of people. Is that unhealthy?

The Dual shock, prolly the main reason I wont get a PS3, I was tempted after the price drop but no go, just move the freaking joystick to the 360 layout, and stiffen them up a bit, also the triggers need some help.

The snowboard/skateboard controller thing that was brought out for the first xbox. I used that thing once, got about a 1/4 of the way down the slope, and then stopped and put the silly thing aside and never touched again.

Also the shoulder buttons on the PS3. I've only used them in short stints at the store and they still leave my fingers feeling sore.

No, no. It was that you simply stated that the controller slips out of your sweaty palms. It made it almost seem like you get some sort of workout pressure from playing video games. It was the wording that got me I suppose.

It's not unhealthy...it's just odd to me. When you start sweating while you eat, then you will be in the unhealthy.

Yeah I figured what was wrong. I have communication problems. I need to be more eloquent...

I've been able to adapt to every controller I've used fine.

That said, I find the original Xbox one quite annoying.

not exactly a controler i know, but i hated the gameboy micro, i found it infuriatingly small to play properly.
