"Verify: Ripley Tarklaeus, Harel'Kere nar Tebelya, Nathan Andrews, Auran Klay, Marcin Calus, Sindri no surname, Dimir'Nared vas Taralya, Sal'rena nar Hadran, Grexec Wrawl, Santius Valerian, and," Yossar took in a deep breath "Mannovai Athenan Nal Helan Kirrahe Jaroth." He finished, Salarian names sure are a pain. Yossar thought to himself.
Code:
"Authorized personel verified, identification protocol complete, are there any other functions you would like to activate administrator?"
" Yes, turn on all lights." Yossar said looking through his window into the darkness. Then the darkness evaporated and he could see the entirety of the new base. Yossar was hit with a sudden sensation of vertigo, he felt like he was standing on the edge of a cliff looking down on a road hundred of miles below. The cool voice of the bases new VI snapped him out of it,
Code:
"Administrator is there anything else?"
"What, uh, yes, what's the status on our license?" Yossar asked as he snapped back.
Code:
" As far as I my processes can identify it is currently being processed by the Illium Bureau of Para-police Affairs, and should become valid shortly. Is there anything else?"
"Just tell me when it's valid." Yossar said standing up, might as well see how everyone was settling in. He got up and walked out of his office, and took a look at the base. The "base" was actually a converted warehouse in Illium's lower districts. It had long been abandoned and fallen into disrepair, but they had fixed it up enough for it to be a serviceable headquarters. The main entrance was to the south, a nice perk was that it was a large heavily enforced door that could take one hell of a beating before giving way, there was then a vehicle pool for some transports. The west held the personel quarters, which were storage containers that had been refurbished with carpetting, walls, furniture, and climate control, this made them comfortable enough but still a bit spartan. Nearby was the leisure and dining spaces; the dining area held a large table and had two kitchens opposite each other, on for the levo-amino species, one for the dextro-amino species. The offices for anybody who had any tasks involving paper work were along the northern wall, Yossar's office was in the old warehouse supervisors loft, which looked over the entire base. Finally the east held all things considered neccassarry for their operation, amory, repair workshops, a small sickbay, and a large open area that could be used for training, target practice, and biotic exercises. A few extra perks of the location were a large crane that made remodeling very easy, neighbors who didn't care about noise, and a cheap lease.
Yossar made his way down to floor and began walking over to the personnel quarters to see if he could find someone.
The RP has now begun! Time to post your introductory post, and have your characters talk a bit before we start our first mission. One more note please, have all OOC post be in spoiler boxes from now on.
Yay it's begun! Finally finished painting my room (or atleast half of it), so I should be on for the rest of the day.
Ripley took a seat on her bed for the fourth time, glancing around the room to make sure everything was in it's correct position. She stared at her personal desk for a moment before walking over to it and straightening a few datapads that were just slightly ajar.
'Perfect,' she thought as she sat walked around the room. 'Alright, everything is perfect. You can stop now, Ripley. Nothing out of place. Perfect, perfect, perfect,' she thought to herself, taking a deep breathe before sitting down at her desk and opening her computer interface. She looked through the new e-mails ('Spam everywhere! My filter sucks') and read a new one from her brother wishing her good luck with the Dawn Breakers before closing it.
She sighed and looked around, clicking her talons against the chair, wondering if she should put in an aquarium. 'If I'm gone too long though they'd probably die...must look into a timed-feeder if I do get any,' she thought to herself, waiting in silence for a minute before getting up and leaving her room.
She started to walk down the hall, deciding to go and see what food there was in the kitchens. She noticed Yossar as she left the personnel quarters, and wondered if she should stop to chat. "I should probably get to know everyone. Dossiers don't tell you everything," she muttered to herself as she walked over to him.
"Hello there sir. I have to say I like what we've done to the place," she said, "It's very...homey in it's own way."
Marcin sat at his chair,he was going over some calculations,he found it funHe decided to tell his mother about the Dawn Breakers yesterday, she had replied today with a less than happy response, the word "soulless" came up many times,he sighed and went over the calculations, keeping his mind of the message.
God I hope that was okay, sorry if I messed anything up.
Yossar stiffend at Rippley calling him "sir", for some reason it just didn't feel right, but he turned greeted both Rippley and Santius with rather impersonal nods.
"Sorry about the accommodation, had to cut some corners to make sure we could afford the equipment for operations. Once we get a few jobs we can buy some better furniture, till then it's this. Oh as for the Krogan, if he eats one of us he'll poison himself, levo/dextro protein thing, doesn't mean he won't try, they got two stomachs, could probably spare one."
GRRR I TYPED THIS ENTIRE POST THEN MY COMPUTER CRASHED...TWICE! I hope this is good enough.
Dimir was frantically setting up his quarters with all the things he brought with him, on the right wall were small animals and insects of all kinds each labeled with a number and then a nickname Dimir gave them, one cage in the middle containing hamster though, had no numbers, just "Mina" written on it. On the left hand wall was research equipment, computers, all on two medium sized desks, all sorts of equipment was here and for researching all kinds of things, physics, biology, technology, you name it. Lastly, on the back wall Dimir was frantically propping up books on a rather large shelf from a seemingly endless box of books, finally Dimir laid the final book into place.
Dimir rested on his bed for a bit thinking about what he has gotten himself into after seeing all the recruits. "What am I doing here?" he thought "There are so many powerful mercs here that could crush me in a split second, I mean, a 15 year old biotic psychopath! and a Krogan over a thousand years old, I would love to hear stories of his past, but something tells me he isn't going to share them easily, I guess i had to upgrade from fighting common scum and two-bit gang leaders". He began writing reports on the people he had met, noting the two other quarians he had met, wishing to tell them about his pilgrimage. Dimir toyed with his research equipment to make sure everything was in place, adjusted some settings on his omni-tool, and then left to see the de-facto leader of the group, Yossar.
"Sorry sir, am I intruding?" he said faintly, "but I have some questions I would like to ask you".
My computer does that all the time Undead. It really does suck.
"I'm sure we'll be fine with the Krogan. I've gotten along with a few of them before, well until they started firing at me," Ripley explained, looking between the two others as Dimir approached. "You're not intruding at all. I believe we were all just...chatting. Getting to know each other better, that sorta thing," she told him, shifting her weight from one foot to the other a few times.
"So, yes. I think I'll be heading to the kitchen now to get something to eat, and maybe we can all chat later," she said after a moment of silence.
Dimir disregarded the catty remark said by Santius, and bode farewell to Ripley, begining to ask his questions to whoever would answer them.
"So exactly, what kind of work do we do and who from? DO we have any set of morals besides who pays the most?, We won't do anything bad just because someone pays us a lot of credits right? Is this place really all that secure?" Of course, not asking all of them in that kind of rapid succession.
Sorry If I am not supposed to post this quickly after my last, just tell me if I do something against the general RP standards.
Before any of his questions were answered though, hearing Santius' rant on the "levo's" and the Quarians.
"Skipping the pleasantries I see eh Santius? For the record, Quarians can purify they're own food so you don't have to lift one finger for us thank you"
"And sure thing Yossar, sorry if I got in your way, still trying to find my place in all this"
Sal'rena sat at her small desk, finishing reading up on the rest of the groups Dossiers. she had spent most of the time on the other Quarians. Well at least I'm not the only one of my species. She thought as she shut down the terminal. Time to introduce my self She stood up and holstered her pistol. She never went anywhere with out some sort of protection. Sal'rena walked out of her room to find a group was already forming. "Hello all." She said simply.
Ripley looked through all the food items in the dextro-kitchen, taking a small bar and eating it as she went to the fridge. She got a small electric shock from touching the metal, lightly cursing under her breath as she opened it.
"One non-perk of being a biotic, electric discharge when you touch metal," Ripley said outloud, looking through the drinks before finding her dextro-energy drink, "Second non-perk is the constant burning of energy. I appreciate you getting me the energy drinks Yoss- err sir. I know they can be a bit pricey and hard to find."
Speaking to Sal'Rena, Dimir said "Hello Sal'rena, if you don't mind me asking, I read your dossier and you mentioned your tactics are based around infiltration but I didn't see you mention using a sniper rifle, have different tactics from the norm?" Eager to get at least one question answered.
" Santius, you sound like elitist, I'm not going to turn down help just because it means I have to buy two different kitchen sets, a good man I can trust is worth more than his weight in Eezo.
And Dimir, we do Investigations and security detail for whoever hires us and I feel is worth taking money from, we are not thugs for hire, we are not assassins, we are not mercs, we Private Investigators and Security experts, we do not kill someone because we are paid, only because they get in the way of the job, or they have it coming. As for morals, well think of it this way, we have only one rule, watch your comrades."
Yossar finished by picking up a glass and taking a drink, he immediately cringed, it was as bad as Santius had said.
Sal'rena smiled beneath her mask and let out a chuckle. "I don't mind you asking at all and yes Sal is fine. I don't use a rifle because I have the Invisibility Cloak. Allow me to demonstrate." She said pressing a button on her wrist. A few seconds later, she vanished. "Useful as long as the enemy doesn't have inferred sights on their helmets." She said reappearing in the same place.
"Careful what you wish for Santius, I spent most of my time on the Citadel protecting people from gangs, you'd be surprised at the things some people will do to get to someone" Dimir said as if he thought Santius wouldn't have an oh-so witty answer to this.
