Before I format this post to make it look presentable I want to know if people are actually going to get behind this idea, otherwise its a waste of my time.

Basically this thread would be available for everyone in the Escapist community to post their recipes on. It'd be a place to share recipes and to try something new as well. Hopefully, if people get behind the idea, I'd like to make a PDF actual Escapist cookbook full of recipes and smartarse comments and place it up here on the forum for all to see.

So! Any aspiring chefs out there? Anyone want to share brilliant home made cakes or soups or anything? I have a few recipes I could dig up, but I'm going to need other members inputs in order to make this thread succesful.

Lets cook!

EDIT: When I get home from work tonight I'll format this properly, as other members are contributing well. Right now I have to do some gardening. Lets go secateurs!
Could I suggest your adding this to the Escapist Community Thread you created a short while ago.

Epic Beans on Toast of Ultimate Wizardry
1: Take some bread which you wish to toast.
2: Soak bread lightly with Worchester Sauce (Lea and Perrins)
3: Toast it on an open grill.
4: While toasting bread, cook beans outside on a barbecue/in your pre-dug fire pit (not a joke, that's actually what I use)
5: The toast will probably be finished before the beans, so just leave it on the warm surface at the edge of the grill to keep it heated. Butter the toast also. Add the beans and enjoy. Also works with those beans that have the sausages in them.

Ribs and Coke Combo

1 Full Rack of Ribs
2L bottle of Coke
Add desired spices.

Pour coke into large pot, add water until it is about 3:1 ratio.
Add Ribs and bring to a boil.
When ribs are no longer pink on the outside, remove from heat and place on baking sheet. Add desired spices and sauces. Place in oven at 250F for about 20 minutes or until brown on the outside.

It sounds weird, but the sugars in the coke actually make the rib meat really "Fall-off-the-bone" tender.

Chocolate cake in a Mug!

4 tbsp flour
4tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1 egg
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp oil
3 tbsp chocolate chips (optional)
A bit of Vanilla
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients in mug and mix well
add egg and mix
add milk and oil, mix until there are no lumps
Add Chocolate chips and a splash of vanilla, and mix yet again
microwave for 3 minutes. The cake may look like it's going to overflow, but it's okay, it wont.
Let sit for 2 minutes and enjoy!

So many smart-arse recipes. Time for some real cookery-pokery!

Fettuccine Boscaiola
Feeds four people as a side dish, two as a main or one if you're a pig.

Need:
- 6 rashers of bacon. Middle cut (with fat and rind) if you're a man, short (rind and fat removed) if you're a pussy.
- 200 grams of sliced mushrooms (approx. six mushrooms)
- 200 ml ordinary (non-sweetened, non-thickened) cream.
- Enough pasta to suit your needs. Spaghetti, fettuccine, linguine, whatevs.
- A teaspoon or two of sugar, plus a little pepper if you like.
- American? Lern 2 speek metric or convert as necessary.

Seven Steps to Deliciousness:
1. Add the pasta to a pot of rapidly boiling water, to which you've added a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of oil.

2. Dice up your bacon. For those that are men and got the cheaper stuff with the rind and fat, cut off said rind and most of the fat. Also, slice the mushrooms.

3. In a pan, saute the bacon and mushrooms. Now, if you add oil, you'll find your meal is oily so feel free to work out how you're gonna do this one. A really good teflon pan that needs no oil is perfect. If you need oil, only use the tiniest amount.

4. Add a little cream and mix it all up so there's nothing stuck to the bottom of the pan, then add your sugar and a little pepper.

5. Add the rest of the cream, bring it to the boil and then let it simmer on a medium heat, stirring frequently, until the whole mix is more of a yellowish colour than white, and the the cream can coat a spoon without dripping.

6. Drain pasta, dump sauce on top and mix it up.

7. Cream yourself with joy as you eat the most fuck-delicious meal EVER.

I was wondering when someone would bring that up... I'll do it, it feels a little weird to add your own thread but I'll still do it.

I notice that despite making the thread, I have yet to actually produce a recipe of my own.

So! Inspired by the Escapists own Susan Arendt and Ckeymel, I have decided to present my inaugural recipe to be of quite possibly the greatest cake in the world, (even better than the Portal Cake), it is the one, the only. Pony Cake*.

[HEADING=1]The Pony Cake[/HEADING]

Basically its a Vanilla Cake cut into the shape of a horse with pink frosting to match the badge design, lets start with the basic prep and ingredients.

Ingredients (To serve 15):
1 1/4cups of milk,
3 tsp vanilla essence,
300g butter,
at least 6 eggs,
2 cups of caster sugar,
1 cup plain flour,
3 cups of self-raising flour,
3 cups of white frosting and;
1 cup of pink frosting (you might have to have white frosting then add red food dye to it to achieve this effect if you can't find pink frosting anywhere)

1. Preheat the oven to 140 degrees (C) Grease the tray up with slightly melted butter or other similar greasing agent, line with wax paper.

2. The fun step! Add everything to a bowl (except the frosting of course) and mix well with some sort of electric beater. Mix it into a thick paste!

3. Add to a rectangular baking pan, we're going to cut the pony shape out of it after its done.

4. Cook in the oven for 2 1/2 hours, then take out and leave to cool. Right! Now we're going make this cake achieve poniosity!

5. Cut the cake in the manner shown,
we then frost the cake white, and add the pink frosting for the mane, a la the badge. Then just decorate with lollies and stuff as you see fit! Licorice for the reigns maybe, or a brown M & M for the eye, whatever you like!

Congratulations! Your cake has now achieved Ponioisty! Eat!

*I know the colours are wrong but come on! You can use your imagination...

However much pasta you want.
2 Bell peppers (not the green ones)
Quite a bit of bacon
Dried herbs.

Put the pasta on boil and let that cook.
Fry the bacon until desired, then add peppers and fry them until the pasta is cooked.
When the pasta is cooked, add everything in the pan and mix, add herbs also.

Serve :)

And also

1 Banana mashed
2 slices of bread

Add banana to bread, put bread together cut in half and enjoy. :)

The Greatest Chai Cupcakes You Will Ever Eat

-1/2 cup sugar
-2 oz butter, softened
-1/2 cup milk
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-1 egg
-1 cup flour
-1 tsp baking powder
-1 tsp cinnamon
-1/2 tsp nutmeg
-1/2 tsp cloves
-1/2 tsp ground ginger
-1/2 tsp ground cardamon
-pinch of salt
-1 or 2 chai tea bags

directions

1. Preheat oven to 175° C (350° F). Place liners into cupcake pan.
2. Heat up milk on stove, remove from stove. Place tea bags into milk, cover and steep for 5-10 minutes.
3. Cream sugar and butter together. Mix in egg and vanilla. Mix in milk.
4. Sift flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cardamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt together. Mix dry and wet ingredients together.
5. Divide batter into cupcake liners. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a tester inserted comes out clean.
6. Allow to cool before frosting with buttercream frosting. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

Edit: Here's a second recipe.

Yogurt Cake

2 eggs
1 cup of plain unsweetened yogurt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 or 2 tsp vanilla extract, to taste.
300 grams of raspberries, frozen (no need to thaw them) or fresh

Preheat the oven to 175° C (350° F).
Combine the yogurt, eggs, sugar, vanilla and oil. In another bowl, sift together the flour and baking powder. Add the flour mixture into the yogurt mixture, and blend together. Pour half of the batter into a ten-inch cake pan (bottom lined with parchment paper, sides greased), then pour half of the raspberries on the surface. Cover the berries with the remaining batter, top with remaining half of the berries. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a cake tester comes out clean. Let stand for ten minutes, and transfer onto a rack to cool. Serve with vanilla ice cream or vanilla sauce. The cake is better the next day.

Dammit! I was about to post that Recipe.
Though it is a blessing and a curse, the knowledge that at any time you are only 5 minutes away from cake is a heavy burden indeed...

speedcoreXdandy's badass king prawn sandwich

ingredients:
Uncooked* king prawns
3 cloves of garlic
granary bun
lemon juice
mayonnaise
iceberg lettuce

*You could use pre cooked but they're nowhere near as nice.

1: Slice the bun and pour a small amount of lemon juice over each side, letting it soak into the bread
2: melt a small amount of butter (just enough to fry the prawns) in a pan
3: slice garlic into very small pieces and fry until cooked (duh!)
4: Fry the prawns until pink but still juicy and yummy
6: Drain off any excess butter and take out the garlic, mix it with mayonnaise then spread across bread
7: place prawns on bread
8: slice lettuce and place on top of prawns
9: Close bun
10: eat
11: Get food poisoning if you didn't defrost the prawns properly (Like me 4 of the last 6 times)

Thought of this after I originally posted.

Preheat oven to 180Cishh

Get as much rice as you want (bear in mind it goes puffy and you get a lot more than what you put in the pan)
Grate as much cheese as you like.

Put the water for the rice to boil first.
Add rice after it's boiled

Get some instant black pepper sauce (Colemans)
Get the ingrediants on the back of that (some milk)
Put those into a pan following instructions and keep mixing (get someone to help)

While those are cooking

Put some chicken dippers in the oven (About 12 depending how many mouths are being fed)

When everything is cooked.

Drain off the rice and add cheese.. Mix until the cheese has melted
Put onto a plate
Grab a few of the chicken dippers and put on top of the rice.
Pour on sauce.

Orgasmic Italian quesadilla.

this is basically what happens when you are an italian food lover living in Southern California

Ingredients:
2 tortillas
1/2 cup of fresh mozzarella cheese (if you can't find fresh, thats fine, but its best this way)
a bit of grated cheddar cheese
3 slices of tomato (cut into halves or quarters)
3-4 leaves of fresh basil
several napkins

Directions:
heat up pan, skillet, or sandwich press (sandwich press works the best)
shred the mozzarella cheese or cut into small pieces
apply half of your cheese to one of the tortillas
spread tomatoes evenly over the cheese
shred basil to desired size and spread evenly over the tomatoes and cheese
apply other half of cheese
top off with the other tortilla
using a spatula or other flat implement, place the completed quesadilla into your heated pan/skillet/sandwich press and heat until the cheese is thoroughly melted
allow time to cool
slice into pieces of desired size
enjoy
keep napkins handy

I have a couple other recipes coming later, but for now, I'm off to make me some dinner.
