Just FYI: badges will go out during one of the scheduled updates, so if you don't get one right after you click on the last box of the calendar, don't panic. Go open the rest of your presents, have some food and fun, and then later you'll find the badge has magically arrived (thanks, webserver Santa!).

I have this problem too. I clicked it yesterday but it is lit up today.

The glow you are seeing is from the hat on the background. If the edges of the box aren't lit up, too, then it's been clicked on.

24 is also lit up for me, but I'm able to click 25. I noticed that people have different Holiday 2009 badges. Is their more then one you can get, or do you randomly get one from the several badges available?
