Still made a hefty THUNK when you put them in thoughSuperNashwan said:The 5.25 floppy drives were scary, you'd just ease them in and wait for the "KA-CHUNK" that shook the whole table and your hand would reflexively shoot back. And if you had a corrupted disk, the dreaded "neeeurrrggghhhhhhhhh"...
Yeah any platform or format is finebassdrum said:Are we talking computer games, as in games played on a PC, or are we talking video games played on any system?
If it's the former, then Portal was the first game I really played on a computer (and then it was Half-Life 2 that got me to be serious about PC gaming--I know that I was late to the party, but hey, at least I showed up); if it's the latter, then it's Frogger.
I take it back, it wasn't WarCraft, it was SkyRoadsSuperNashwan said:Its all good - any platform is fineWOPR said:for people naming gameboy games I should remind them this says COMPUTER GAMES!!!
mine was WarCraft (the first DOS one)I just wanted those nostalgia moments the first time folks came into contact with gaming, its nice to hear people's different experiences.
Because I am old as well as being hopelessly British, I call them 'computer games' where I guess most folks would say video games. Basically anything that had video tech in it ad let you play a game![]()
Lotus Turbo Challenge was awesome. God that game sparked so many fights between me and my friend back then. When we werent fighting over who's machine was best (he had an atari ST, I had an amiga, therefore I won lol) we were fighting over who got the best joystick when we played on each others machines, or who cut who up on the roadPolyg0n said:I've been told that I've played something on Commodore 64, but I have no memories of that. The first one I remember playing was Lotus Turbo Challenge (or maybe Chip's Challenge, not sure) for the PC.
Shedding a tear over video games is ALWAYS allowableOrthon said:The first computer game I ever played(I think) was a game in which you ran around in first person perspective and saved dinosaurs from their impending extinction by finding their 2D images before the timer ran out.
I must've been like 3-4 years old and when I couldn't save them all, I cried. ;(
That sounds oddly familiar yet I have no ideaAlcamonic said:I remember playing a game where you were an ant collecting fruit(?) in the ground, but you were chased by other ants/bugs. It was in color and I think it was on C64.
Anyone know what the game could be?
That second one reminds me of a game on C64 called 'Blitz' i think - you bombed buildings, and occasionally King Kong would climb one. If you killed him you got a bonusTuken said:then

Both in 1995 when I was 3 on a very old computer, great times.
