mine would be the Goomba at the start of Super Mario Bros on the NES. that poor little guy, all on his own, got flattened!

Got to agree with you on that one. I think I was about 8 years old at the time, so I don't know how I mustered the coordination for it.

Possibly one of the gun-toting crims from Robocop for the Spectrum, over at a friend's house. On my own system, either a Napier henchman from Batman (the game of the Tim Burton movie) or a mine-spitting hermit crab in The New Zealand Story.

The furthest back I can remember that counts as a death is either an alien in Commander Keen, or one of those blob things in God of Thunder.

The earliest thing i can remember defeating in any such way is Running over the other skiers in Skifree >

First enemy was a Goomba in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Gameboy, which I still play.

Eggman in Sonic Adventure. My dad's friend gave me his Dreamcast with that game, I loaded up the save file and i was right there about to fight the Egg Hornet as Sonic in the Mystic Ruins.
