The earliest game I remember hating is Blasto on PS1. I was given a promo copy of it by Sony when a special demo disc I ordered arrived late, and it still felt like a ripoff.

The Karate kid on the NES back in '87. As a kid I loved the movie, so I got the game. It was impossible, infuriating and only had 4 levels. After about a week I went berserk and threw it out my bedroom window into the back alley

There were plenty of games I didn't like over the years, but the first game I can honestly say I hated was "the last remnant". that game played a very big part in killing JRPGs for me, and if for no other reason, that is why I hate it. Even ones that I played and loved, like the Golden Sun games, just aren't that fun after playing that game.

Fuck you, Square, fuck you.

Mario.

Yep.

Still, today (I'm 23), I cannot finish a Mario game. I suck at them. I hate them. I borrowed Mario for the Nintendo DS about a year ago and I LITERALLY fell into the FIRST pit in the damn game. Gave up forever after that. Nothing's changed since I was a kid.

Final Fantasy X is the first game I genuinely remember hating with a blood-boiling passion.

Frogger: the great quest for the PS2 (also my first ps2 title) made me what to scratch my own eyes out from frustration.
My, that game was horrid. It is one of three games I started but just gave up on.

OT: FF XIII would come in a close second. I gave it a last chance, and was just bad. Not funny bad like FF X, just awful.

It was 1991 and this was ported to the NES.
To this day... this game can still kiss the fattest part of my ass.
As much as I wanted to like it, I can't help but fucking hate it.

That was very recently. I always felt If I didn't like a game it's just not for me.

Untill Darksiders.

This is the blandest game I've ever played and it annoyed me from the get go; every game element is stolen from something else, only less well implemented, resulting in a game that gets good reviews overall while driving me to tears.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES. Fuck you dangling electric seaweed things. No one has ever beaten that part, nobody. If you say otherwise you are a liar or used a game genie.

@sapient pearwood: *sorry didnt catch the reply button*
ok the offline playability was not the biggest problem^^ (didn't miss my wow guild)

what I missed was the great meaningfull story, the believeable characters - that can be distinguished from each other - and the gameplay of FFX, that allowed me to do more than just switch on the console ;-)

did I mention that FFXII stands upside down on my board like some kind of unholy relic ?
man I really don't like that game :)

p.s.: we don't talk bad about any incarnation of half life 2 in the public...worst case gabe hears us and quits developing the next one - beware
*gg*

Command and Conquer 4 TT, OMFG I hated that Genre-killing, impossible to connect to piece of malware. It is the only game that has a problem with my internet connection, and it is not an RTS. It KILLED CnC.

There were a lot of games a really disliked, like Super Mario Bros. (never beat it) or Street Fighter 2 (single player cheap opponent AI).

But the first game I truly HATED was Battletoads. If you weren't busy accidentally killing your teammate (or griefing each other), then you were getting bent over on the speederbike level. And, IF you somehow managed to get past that, the next level would probably kill you anyhow. And with no difficulty settings, the only thing to do was toss the thing and beat up the next person you see to vent your frustration, which ironically is pretty much like two player mode in Battletoads anyhow.

Yes, that cart deserved the same fate as ET for the Atari - gathered up, dumped into a big hole in the middle of no where, and forgotten. Except that I just brought them up. Damn it!

Let's see the first game I hated? Why the one that comes to mind is Snake Rattle and Roll. Holy crap that game just pissed me off REALLY badly. O my lord it's so bad. 3D isometric platforming with no continues Long shitty levels, BS objectives and all sorts of crap that just sucked. Seriously it is probably the first game I just out right hate.

I think the first game I outright hated rather then just disliked was FFXII, this piece of rubbish was meant to be on the same level as FFX‽ please.

I can agree with you there, the last remnant was a very big disappointment.

Pacman and all it's clones and iterations.

I still remember my dad buying a Commodore 64 and some sample floppy the salesman threw in of multiple versions of pacman. Luckily he grabbed a coulpe random games off the shelf as well and atleast they were decent
