I never thought I would hate any entertainment, till one day after I was hyped up for 3 years for a single game I believed was going to be everything I hoped it would be. Seriously, I was one of those people that didn't understand why people would use the word hate for anything, but now I understand. After becoming really really disappointed, I changed! I became skeptical with everything and not let myself get hyped up for anything ever again.

SSB Brawl was dumbed down so much they fucked it up. I find this to be a perfect example of all flash and no substance.

What was the first game that made you realize that games can be bad ?

For me I think Its "fade to black" on PS1.
you think you have it bad? Flashback was one of my favorite games of all time along side starflight (both for the megadrive) and then fade to black came along ... you know the rest

Ive basically decided that game never happened it doesnt exist anymore poor conrad is still floating around in space somewhere.

I started gaming with the Atari 2600. I suppose I've always known that games can be great (Yar's Revenge) or crappy (any arcade port on the 2600).

Probably the first Gears of War.
The single-player campaign was at best tolerable, and at worst horrible. I will refrain from mentioning what I thought of the online multiplayer because just thinking about it makes me want to vomit in hatred.

Gears of War 2 wasn't half bad though.

I actually dont remember. Probably "Oni" was the first game I played that I didn't much enjoy. I was used to having 10 weapons in shooters and that one only let you carry 2. It confused and angered me.

But say what you like about Croc, you must admit that Croc 2 was the best game of it's generation!

Wow.

Wasn't expecting that kind of response! Looking at the box art i realise that i actually meant Croc 2. Not to say that that'll be of any consolation. In fact, for "The Wykydtron" it's just making things worse!

But hey, someone said they hated a beloved game of mine too (Ape Escape) so i know how you feel!

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Truly, that game made me want to beat a hole in the TV screen with my head. And one of the 90's TV's that could probably survive being hit by a car. In fact, it would probably do more damage to the car.

Anyhow, I still hate that game playing it today, which is really fucking strange to me, as I love most of the other Legend of Zelda games I've played. I even thought Twilight Princess was great.

Honestly I don't remember, but I'm not quoting you to tell you that. I'm quoting you to say D: ...I hate that game so much. An awful sequel to a great game.

Far Cry 2, because it had so much potential to be good but the devs decided to make Map Reading While Driving: The Game out of it
Also having to pick up malaria pills every 20 minutes. Whoever the hell thought that would ever be a good idea should be fired from Ubisoft immediately. For me you would have to go way back to the ps1 and play a game called tigershark. Look it up and you'll see why I think so.

I had a good run on Sega Genesis and PS1 with good to decent games until I hit PS2 with:

Finally Fantasy X-2

It was a total let down to the point that I never finished it out of absolute boredom. The story was mediocre at best and after a million and a half costume changes via Sailor Moon style you just say "Forget it!"

i actually cant say. i seem to have generally adopted the tactic of "if i think i wont like i shall not buy it". that, and any game i have hated i didnt play enough to remember. oh wait, Call of Duty 3 ..... god i hated that game (although that was probably mostly due to the fact it was in french ... and it's shittyness ofc) but i technically didnt buy that, came with the xbox you see

Jumper: The Video Game. I saw that horrible, butchered, abomination of a movie (The book is SOOOOOO much better) but being a stupid kid and thinking the action wasn't too bad and the idea of "jumping" while fighting a bunch of bad guys was cool. And when I heard about the game...well...*younger, more naive me* "MUST HAVE GAME! MOOOOOOOOOM!" BUUUUUT INSTEAD I GOT SOME OF THE WORST LEVEL DESIGN EVER, HORRIBLE VOICE ACTING, PHENOMENAL GLITCHING, AND A THE WORST USE OF A MECHANIC EVAAAAAAAAAAAR!! DILSGHADKUJHGFJAS....sorry, just had to get that out.

movie + game = fail

this is a life lesson that i give you. take it, and you shall prosper in the days to come

first game i truly hated was dead rising. between all the beginning cut scenes and shitty saving i spent hours trying to play without even getting to the first objective.
