For me it was "the incredible machine". A kind of puzzle game where you could build hilarious contraptions and the like or solve puzzles. I put sooo many hours of my life into it, I really should try to find it or some other game like it again.

That was incredible, I remember that.

I second both the feeling that it was incredible, and that it was my first good game.
