Then again,Star Wars is mostly acrobatic "fencing" these days, anyway.

Anyway, this isn't about utility. If it's utility, I'd argue the laser crossguard has far more drawbacks than benefits. This, like lightsabers in general, is about "rule of cool." And while some people may think it looks awesome, I think it looks goofy as hell. That really ought to be the only argument, though.
