Guy's eyes seemed to brighten a bit and his face lifted. "Sì. Per un po 'lungo. Milano era il posto dove ho vissuto, amato, ed è morto." His face seemed to darken again, however, as he spoke, memories flashing through his mind like a book until it found the proper page. A woman's face stared through his mind, before he sighed, returning back to the church once more.

Yes. For a long while. Milan was where I lived, loved, and died.

Njord had unplugged his guitar when things cooled down between the others and was still sitting in his pew practicing "Har någon här tala svenska?"

Does anyone here speak swedish?

Charles sighed in annoyance. People speaking in tongues...

"Well, I'm going outside for a nice cigar. Anyone care to share one with me?" he asked, pulling out a finely crafted wooden box from his inner coat pocket

Zala watched the memory cut at him with sympathy. There were too many memories for any one to cut too deep. With perhaps the exception of that first black day of her life, which even then made her hand twitch in it's desire to flutter over her empty belly. The death that had triggered her own.

Luckily Nordic one drew her attention, and her amusement. "Jag gör. Jag blev kidnappad över tusen år sedan av era förfäder."

I do. I was kidnapped over one thousand years ago by your ancestors.

Alright, I'm getting all kinds of funky symbols and shit all over my text whenever i try to use a translator(and no, i don't mean the symbols that should be there). How are you guys getting it so clean? I can't even get the marks over the n's and whatnot, without all kinds of weird coding nonsense >.>

Example: ¡Ah, Milán. Los tres años que estuve allí fueron bien gastado.

EDIT: Ok, the boxes weren't there in the preview, but still. It's not what it should be.

What translator are you using? :(

http://translation.babylon.com/ is pretty good but you have to cheat a bit to copy-paste it. Baring that, there's this list of translators here http://www.translation.langenberg.com/ Enjoy.

"Synd. Den part var enastående." She quipped with a wicked grin. There were few who feasted like Vikings, and she hadn't let the unexpectedness of her invitation dampen her enjoyment of that night that had turned into a span of years while she soaked up the culture. "Det kanske var innan du föddes." She said regretfully. It would have been nice to reminisce with someone from those days.

A pity. The party was phenomenal. Perhaps it was before you were born.

Maybe you can just do the classic comic books (for other languages).

"Efter att verksamheten här är över vi kunde få alla andra att ha en annan part så." He said then shouted. "That's right what does everyone here think about having a massive party and feast after we're done here?"

After the business here is over we could get everyone else to have another party like that.

Zala muffled a laugh behind her hand. Yes, definitely a viking. "I believe a more sedate evening is likely in order for us. Especially since the wine I brought with me for this trip is 126 years old, and to be treated with the respect due it's age." Her lips twitched with amusement, raising an eyebrow at those assembled. "If anyone is interested in it, that is."

"I'm in for that. Do you know of any nearby places that do Indian?" Edwardo said, hungrily imagining warm rice and creamy butter chicken curry sliding past his tongue and down his gullet. It had been so long since his last meal. He made a mental note to pick up his gun from the dealer on Canal Street, and to find a place to comfortably pass out for the night.

Anna peered through the doors of the church at the large group of people. They all looked friendly enough, but a few of them seemed to be sizing each other warily.

"Come on old girl," she muttered to herself. "No time like the present."

She hung back outside thd doors. It had taken her longer than she'd expected to get to New Orleans, and she wasn't going to let herself faulter before she reached her final destination. Fixing a smile on her face and straighteneing her shoulders, she strode into the church with a bouncy walk. She vaguely heard someone mention Indian food.

"Hello!" She called out cheerily. "Hope you're not put out waiting for me!" She looked over the group, her eyes flickering to the pair she thought she'd heard introduce themselves as Gerard and Fredrick. They looked pleasent enough. Settling next to Zala, the other girl, she smiled cluelessly.

"Did someone say we were going out for a meal? Because if that's what I came all the way to New Orleans for, I hope it's a damned good meal."

Gerard saw another of their kind approaching, this time a girl- older than most, he could see. He introduced himself and then remained silent, listening to the others.
I'm swedish and I hope you realize that google is not a perfect translator :p

Anna beamed at Gerard as he introduced himself. With a small wave, she joined him in silence. It hadn't taken her long to realise what they all had in common, and that only made this all stranger. Why were they all here? How had they all been called here?

Heck, she'd been in a tent in the middle of Bodmin Moor and she'd had a mail delivery. She slipped a hand into her jeans pocket and touched her card. With more questions than answers, all she could really do was hope someone would speak up and give them at least a clue as to why they were there.

Zala met the new girl's arrival with sweeping curiosity. The way she also seemed to desire a united front among the females was interesting, not to mention that she was obviously of at least of few centuries in age, despite her physical appearance. And yet she had a rather thoroughly modern style... Zala filed her under interesting and moved on to the question at hand. "No, I do not believe that's our purpose here. Although anyone who would like to join me for dinner this evening is welcome. I have a suite at one of the surviving five-stars in the area." She waved her hand as if to say the consideration of which was beneath her notice, which it nearly was. Travel arrangements had been made in such a rush she had had someone else manage it for her.

She glanced about the church. "Although whatever is planned for us, a temple is a fitting place." She smiled with twinkling amusement and a hint of self-deprecation in her smile for the young fool she'd once been, when not long after her death she had believed herself divine, and set as a Demi-god in her city. Although their existence she well acknowledged owed itself to something along that vein, at least in her personal beliefs.

lol, yes, obviously. It's more for effect than any actual illusion that's anywhere near accurate. It's cooler-sounding than just using italics and saying it's in another language. Although I bet it's really funny-sounding, huh? ...Hmmm... You could volunteer to translate for us if it bothers you. :D

As the room begins to settle into twilight, the last rays of the sun shine on the virgins face and illuminate the altar pieces and tiptychs behind her. The building becomes uncomfortably cold and the air becomes heavy and oppressive for those who care enough to take a deep breath.

Then Sachiro nearly falls backwards out of the pew, as anyone else who would have been looking at the face of the Virgin Mary might have...as she suddenly smiled and reached out.

A windy voice like a breeze over ancient oaks or rain over water can be heard by only the keenest among them, and those who are paying attention to the statue.

"My children.." it whispers, to each in his native dialect, "...I have so much to show you..."

The marble statue settles once again in its original form, stained marble and soot, before cracking in half with a great heave of the wood altar base supporting it. It falls in pieces, before crumbling into ash.

Those with keen sight might notice what appears to be a shadow slipping quickly over the walls and out the door.

Sachiro curses in Japanese and scrambles to his feet. He looks at the older ones standing before him, and says, "Has any of you ever seen anything like that?"

Zala leaned heavily against the nearest surface for a moment before her gaze caught on a flicker of shadow. She moved without thinking, ignoring those around her as she dashed to the door the shadow fled from, her eyes wild with a fierceness of emotion she had not felt stirred in her for thousands of years. So much time and she was so close to knowing why... She had to know why...

Can someone give me a recap of the plot so far? Debate really gets in the way of posting.

Fredrick smiled at the multilingual banter. (swedish)"I would greatly look forward to a party." he said to Njord. "A true Dane does not go more than two hundred years without a proper drinking contest."(swedish) He turned back to the Italian, about to ask him his name, when a motion and a voice made him snap his head around to stare at the Virgin Mary.

His eyes narrowed to slits as he gazed upon her. She spoke, in words he seemed to have heard before, but could not remember where. Then she split, and broke, and a shadowy presence wisped away across the walls, and out the door. As Zala ran out the door after it, and everyone in the room broke into their own wild reactions, he simply stood there, breathing a heavy sigh, then slowly walked out the door after Zala.

Hooray for crude and rudimentary tactics! :D
