Anna stared at the statue, her eyes wide. She barely noticed the Japanese man yelling, or woman beside her running away.

"My Lord, my lord, I thought you had forsaken me," she said, her eyes filling with tears and her weathered hands clasping together in silent prayer. The ash of the statue transfixed her. A piece of it rippled slightly in the breeze from the open door. She blinked and shook her head to clear it.

She wanted to follow Zala, and she wasn't sure what this place had left to give her. Everyone around her was caught in their own reactions, but she didn't want to venture out alone, not now that she'd found people like her, all called together for the same purpose, she presumed. She knew she'd never forgive herself if she got left behind, so she cleared her throat.

"Do you think those two had the right idea?"

Charles looked at the statue, his eyes narrowed angrily

"... Impossible" he whispered.

He watched the two others leave, following a shadow that leaped across the walls.

Rather then continue to look stare blankly at the worthless statue, he followed

"Ah-haha normally we actually had to destroy the damned things ourselves." Njord laughed.
He saw the others chasing the shadow but it moved faster then he could run, and his guitar was far more entertaining.

Anna pressed her hands into her pockets to stop them shaking. She didn't know whether she shoud stay or go, so she forced herself to think about something that wasn't quite as mind blowing as what she'd just witnessed. Clearing her throat, she approached Njord.

"Do you think they'll come back?"

Paddy dived from his seat and chased after the shadow with the others. His hand instinctively reaching for his revolver. There was no way he was going to be duped into thinking this was some holy appearence. He was sure this had to be whoever had summoned them all, probably using some cinematic tricks.

"Of course they'll come back, they cant die. Just sit down and wait, tell me what kind of music you like." He plugged in his guitar and turned the amp on.

Charles looked for the shaodw, his hunters gaze unwavering and unflinching in the twilight of New Orleans.

Sensing Fredrick was walking along beside him, he spoke up

"You've been around for awhile, ever witnessed anything akin to this before?"

"Many times." Fredrick said to Charles as he stepped out the door, looking around for Zala as he was sure she would be right on the shadow's heels. "Although not, of course, exactly like this, they're always different. Religious miracles are a dime a dozen though, they happen and have happened all over the world throughout the ages. I can't really tell you what causes them to occur, or give you an opinion as to whether or not i think any specific religion is right or not..." he spied Zala and walked after her at an easy pace. "... but what i can say is that in my travels, I have learned one very important rule. Nothing is more possible than that which has not yet been explained."

Charles glanced back at Fredrick, his eyes darkened

"Maybe its due to my age, being stuck in Africa for 300 years or that I was crucified then burned to death but I'm having trouble believing you. Nothing personal"

His eyes caught onto the shadow again and he managed a small chuckle

"But this might change my mind"

Jon was stunned. Through he years, he had stood fast by Wolsey's teaching, but doubt has always nagged, a worry sourcing from the contradictions and errors. These days, he knew the corrupting power of time on information, but that had not helped.

But this sight, and the words he had heard had sparked something in him, something that now burned in his heart.

"I've only lived a century and a half," he said to Frederick, matching his pace, "That's probably nothing to you, and I may even be the youngest here, but even I have seen things change, old theories fall away before feats once thought impossible. I agree, what we saw was not impossible. However, I would rather it did not remain unexplained. Have you an idea?"

"Well, you had best begin believing in that rule." Fredrick said to Charles as they he walked briskly to catch up with Zala. "Because you and I, and Jon here, are prime examples of it." He gazed after the shadow for a moment. "And no, I don't have an idea, if by idea you mean an elaborate plan or "scheme". I simply intend to follow this phenomenon to wherever it seemingly wishes to lead us. As for it being explained or not, well, it is highly possible that it cannot be fully explained, or understood, at least by our feeble humanoid minds, not even after years of experience."

"Then again, the cause may be something very mundane, such as a trickster with skills in special effects." he said, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "Perhaps it is the one who called us here. Whatever the case, we shall see soon enough, and hopefully it will be "explained" as best as it can be." He continued to walk, a little faster now, a gentle sparkle in his eyes and a small smile on his lips. It was these kind of happenings that made the long years worth while.

Anna blinked at Njord, a little taken aback by his blunt answer. Still, her insides settled and she sat next to him.

"Do you play any jazz...no, flamenco? I used to love dancing in Spain. It was quite lovely," she said with a smile. Pressing the tips of her index fingers together, she puffed out her cheeks and blew out a lungful of air.

"I hope you don't mind, but I think I'm going to stick with you for a while. You're like an island in the rapids right now."

Hey guys, something you need to know. My motherboard is dead. So, as a result, my posting times will be very limited. I'll try my hardest to post once a day, but I fear that I cannot make any guarantees as far as that goes. My deepest apologies for any inconvenience this may put you through.
Seamus accepted the bottle with a "Thankee." He took a swig and smacked his lips. "Nobody makes goo' whiskey anymore sa' the Irish an' those damn Scots. Don't tellem tha', though, it'll go to their 'eads." he joked, grinning widely as he handed the whiskey back to Paddy.

He shivered. The room had gotten colder, the air more oppressive. His eyes narrowed and roved the room. The sudden movement of the Virgin had him on his feet faster than most and he was out the door with his guitar case in hand a heartbeat after Zala. He dropped back shortly, however, keeping his eyes on the shadows, fully aware of the mortal dangers a New Orleans night held. Immortal they might be, but a bullet to the head would certainly slow them down and he suspected that they could not waste time. He got his pistol out on the run, somehow keeping all the other implements inside the case and shutting it one handed. He trailed Zala, careful not to let the distance between them grow much beyond thirty yards.

Charles suddenly burst out laughing at Fredrick's long lament

"Then I guess the only thing we must do is keep moving forward, now lets follow this damned shadow"

Having been surprised at the statue like everyone else, Edwardo had almost evaporated through a front door, sprinting out of the flank of the church at speed. He arrived at and ran across Canal road, receiving honks, various expletives and gestures from the drivers of today's traffic. He hit the south side of the city, street names translating themselves for their southern halves, and sighted the fleeing shadow with Zala, Charles, Paddy and Seamus in tow with Frederick sauntering behind. He sped up, despite the protests from his legs, and joined the chase between Charles and Paddy.

EDIT:
Zala, Charles, Ed and Paddy are pursuing the shadow (who brought the statue to life) in that order, while Anna, Njord, Sachiro and Jon are staying in the church and listening to Njord's guitar.

The virgin mary spoke, and a shadow sped away, with some of the group chasing the shadow, the rest staying behind

Either in the church, chasing the shadow or you can get creative and go do something else. Also, Sachiro is not a Japanese name. You can't write it in Japanese, nor pronounce it properly.
