Shaun had been standing there silently for a long time, his eyes were glazed. He shook his head and cleared his throat. "So, where are we now? Cuz I don't wanna encounter Dracula or some zombie shit." Shaun looked down at his grey jacket, half wet, and blew a sigh/rasberry. "Well, i'm exploring..this is too unanswered to miss. Anyone else?" He looked back towards the group and no one answered. "Well, if I don't come back, phone this. You should reach me." Shaun looked at the group, wondering who to give it to. "Who was the one with the jet an' all? You seem to have taken a little charge. He showed a small smile as he handed it to her. "Bah-bye then!" Shaun set off on a brisk walk, whistling his favourite tune as he went, the water not bothering him apart from the odd wade he had to do.
Paddy managed to grab his bag before the fall and hold it above him as he went down, ensuring it would not get wet. Once he landed he jumped to his feet and his hand raced into his jacket pocket to pull check his gun. Luckily it had also avoided getting wet. Looking down the dark tunnel he realized they would need some light to explore the area. As the others discussed between themselves on their current situation he went over to one of the broken pews that had fallen in aswell and broke off a length of wood. Reaching into his bag he took out an old t-shirt and wrapped it around one end. He took out his bottle of whiskey and sighing took one last gulp before pouring the rest onto the t-shirt. Tossing the bottle away he turned back to the group holding out his makeshift torch and asked "Anyone got a light?".
"Already got one! And a real one too!" Shaun shouted from round the corner, showing his hand revealing a torch/flashlight that he had been using. "If there's one thing i'm always, it's prepared!" He laughed as he carried on walking.
"Again with people being more prepared than me!" said Dexter as he jumped down into the catacombs. "If I had known this would be happening, I would've brought something!"
Shit, I get distracted for a few days and i miss all this. Time to get posting.
Adrian followed behind the rest of the group closely, the cigarette in his mouth giving off a faint glow as the group wandered through the catacombs. He was humming an old Nazi anthem to himself, the music was slightly off beat but he really didn't notice or care.
"What exactly are we looking for?" He asked to the others, having not paid attention to the recent events.
Shaun, slighlty ahead of the group, stopped and swung round. "We got a bleedin' Nazi with us? Well ain't that great! Ya fuckin fascist." Shaun threw himself into a mood and they continued walking.
About 5 minutes later, Shaun jumped back with an exclamation of "Holy shit!" And turned back to the group, shivering. Everyone blanked him. "Did no one see that? I..I shone my light on the wall and...there was a shadow in my light beam! I-It was like the shape of a man..but different! One of those damn shadow men!" He continued to breath heavily.
"Well, you should come down here and join us." Fredrick yelled up to Sachiro, moving to one of the walls and running a hand along it. He seemed to have not noticed Edwardo's tantrum, or at least not payed any attention to it. In truth, whether or not the man had gone up to help the perfectly fine Sachiro mattered little to him, and Zala had handled it anyway. The catacombs were a much more interesting subject.
The masonry was wonderful, as Seamus had said, there were no cracks, gaps, or faults anywhere, as far as he could feel. Obviously there was some fault somewhere, as the water they stood in entailed, but in the immediate area there was nothing. The blacks fit perfectly, the corners were exact, and the stones were solid.
There was a startled cry from down the tunnel, where several of the others had gone. "It seems one of our friends has encountered something of interest." he said mildly, a small smirk appearing on his lips.
Paddy finally got his torch to light by firing off his gun close enough to let a spark hit the alcohol. Holding it up to the crumbling edges of the floor they had fallen through he started looking for signs of what had caused the floor to give way. "There has to be something, this wasn't just a coincidence" he muttered loudly to himself.
Zala moved lithely through the water to a tunnel whose floor sloped high enough to be mostly dry. "This way is more likely to be in tact..." She considered. "Perhaps we had best split up to cover more ground. Anyone wish to join me in this direction?"
Zala laughed at the girl's opinion. "At least jeans don't turn see-though." She griped good-naturedly back, offering her hand to help her into the tunnel if she wanted. It might be good to get some girl-talk in. She'd had little opportunity to analyze what she knew of the journey of other female immortals.
Unable to find anything that would tell him what happened to the floor Paddy turned to follow Zala. As he joined her he said "Allow me to join you, after all what kind of gentleman would allow two ladies to wonder off through a damp abondoned tunnel unescorted and without even a light". He let out a small laugh at his own joke.
Giorgio grinned slightly at the comment, then turned to another path next to theirs. Though a little more damp, it wasn't nearly as cramped- which was nice, considering he was among the tallest in the group. "Until our next meeting, then?" he said to the others more lightly than usual, before turning down the other path.
He paused. "If anyone would care to bring some light...?"
