Well done America, you have managed to ruin the name of one of my favourite tv programs, this is why I hate remakes, they always mess it up

Wow the amount of dislikes that video has haha and it doesn't bother me, let them have it. We're finished with it anyway, I didn't like the Shameless US because that was basically a word-for-word rip of the original but with American accents and setting it used to bother me but it's actually not worth caring about at the end of the day.

They probably enjoy it anyway.
I don't understand why us Brits can watch American shows fine, but when it comes to them watching ours, they have to remake it.

I don't know why they felt the need to do this. Britain never remade Friends or Scrubs, and I refuse to believe that most Americans are that stingy that they require everything they watch to be "Americanized" in one way or another. The Inbetweeners is such an innately British sitcom that it just can't be translated into such a different culture.

So, to whoever had this bright idea...

I have to say the UK one looks like complete shit compared to this remake.
Are you FUCKING kidding me?

It's 'cause you guys have funny accents, innit?

I'm not big on comedy shows to begin with.

I'll never understand it, now whatever charm and comedic value the inbetweeners had was tossed out the window for... whatever the hell that was, and I have a meesage to whoever thought that was a good idea

I raged. My friends raged. We all raged. They've taken jokes straight from the original script, but the characters just don't... work when translated from Britain to a stereotypical american high school. The best part of the British inbetweeners, for me, is that I can look at my friends and seen certain aspects of a character from this show in them. And that some of the stuff is believable.

For americans, look up the Jay motorbike scene and the boat scene. Its all on youtube.

As someone who is not a fan of the Inbetweeners all I can do is give all those who did enjoy it an understanding nod.

It's OK, just act like it doesn't exist. It'll probably fail spectacularly anyway and the idiots who decided to make it will lose out more then you.

I'm not sure how, but American TV has taken something that I always thought was crap and somehow, impossibly somehow, they have made it worse.

That is a real talent.

I can understand why they may want to show our programs over there but why oh fucking why do they have to keep remaking them?

List of shit so far...

Shameless USA
Red Dwarf USA
The Office USA
Life on Mars USA
Now Inbetweeners USA.

I'm just waiting for them to take Dr Who and butcher the fuck out of that as well.

Disclaimer - This isn't a rant against Americans i've already told you I love you once i'm not doing it again. This is a rant at American TV companies remaking our shows and making them shit ... or worse if you didn't like the originals.

The actors just don't seem to be able to deliver the lines very well. If the misfits USA remake is gonna be anything like this then someone needs a flying slap.

Yeah, as others have said the show really only works in the UK setting. Not that I was ever a huge fan of the series, but what I did see really relied on it.

I have no doubt that most Americans can deal with the original without needing it to be converted for them.

Wow. How fucking dreadful. The british version was so awesome because it the characters were just like real british teenagers (Scarily similar to some people I know actually), I don't understand how it could translate to America very well at all. In theory I could see a US version working if it was redone completely, but then it wouldn't really be The Inbetweeners at all.

Can someone please explain why successful British TV shows have to be "remade" if they are to be aired in America?

Isn't it being patronising to the American audience assuming they carn't handle or "won't get" unrefined British television? I know there's cultural and linguistic differences, but that doesn't explain why shows like South Park and Family Guy are aired in Britain in their original form. If Brit's can handle American television, who's saying Americans can't handle British television?

No no no no no no no no no no. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

No.

NO.

Why, the appeal of the inbetweeners was to make an awkward show about the awkward shit that happens to teens in the UK around the age of 17/18. The characters were unique and actually portrayed quite well how a lot of people that age act. It was made to be relatable, they've just turned all of the characters into fake stereotypes that don't even seem anywhere near real people.
THIS is turning it into yet ANOTHER high-school nerd comedy that will force it to lose all of it's charm.

I don't even. I just can't understand why... just
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Uh guys Im american and I watched the british inbetweeners series and movie as I love them.
Why must you offend me. You do realize the person who created the british series had to sign off on this right.
Blame yourself brits not us.

America is just pandering to itself but you brits are sellouts, we're both to blame.
