I don't know about that, considering What If? wasn't exactly brilliant either, in either the voice acting department or the actual animation, and the MCU is arguably the biggest game in town right now.
I guess I assumed after The Mandalorian, they'd want to to maintain the premium feeling of the Star Wars content they put out on Disney+. The Bad Batch wasn't the greatest thing ever, but it did look beautiful at times and was most definitely a step above most other 3D animated shows.
Castlevania was written by english speakers though, right? I think that's the key difference. Japan writes differently, because they speak very differently due to how different their social interactions are compared to the west. A lot of exposition, zero sarcasm, very different character archetypes. English is always going sound a bit peculiar by way of anime.
That's a fair point, although I'd still say with enough time and effort, dubs can be pulled off well (or at least better than what we usually get). I don't think they really bothered with this show.
OT: Watched the rest of Visions. Some good episodes, some meh episodes. I dunno, I think I was hoping for more. It was cool to get the slower, more atmospheric episodes, but it didn't scratch my sakuga itch. Genndy's Clone Wars feels more crazy, balls to the wall shounen anime than any of the action focused episodes.
Also, did Disney make them focus on Jedi, lightsabers, and kyber crystals??? I mean, I love a katana lightsaber as much as the next guy, but it lost its impact the third time around. Pretty much no dogfighting either, which is rare for Star Wars content.
