Common Alias: Nemesis, or some variation on the word "enemy."

Power: The Nemesis family have metal, or later on clockwork or robotics, infused with their flesh. This gives them increased resilience to damage and pain, along with extra endurance. They also have the ability to shift the metal in their bodies into equipment or weaponry. With time and technological advancement, the options for transformation increase with each generation. For example, in the Roman times, the Nemesis could create a gladius or a javelin, but in the World War era, they could fashion a machine gun. While the metal in their bodies is being summoned somewhere else, the empty space is replaced by normal muscle, which recedes when the metal is replaced.

Common Features: Black hair, piercing gray eyes, muscular build in the men, slightly buxom build in the women, incredibly sarcastic. While the metal is generally infused with their muscles, the metal will sometimes be visible as a metal portion of the body. They all have a strong hatred for criminals, dedicating their life to keeping things safe for the citizens or villagers.
I'm still having a hard time picturing the creation of this power.
Every time I picture it I think of a Frankenstein like monster, but this is supposed to be a bloodline, something that's transferred by genes and not some mad scientist that implemented you with mechanical augmentations a la-Deus Ex 3.

I guess they just are born with a metal arm or some metal muscles. I don't bother with trying to figure out science of superpowers.

This is my main concern, that you'll somehow gain the ability to go through walls (via your vortex). The GM needs to decide on this.
So your fine as long the vortex appear from his range of vision only? I can understand your concern. I just think my vortex ability is already hinder as it already is. I mean I know I preventing him from being over powered but I don't want to make his power too useless.
I also debating wheather his power should be kept as a one way path or not (if he can redirect enemies attack back at them or not).

Well I will let the GM decide on that and I will abide by it.

If they're born with a metal arm or something similar, then they can't have other muscles replace them when that arms magically turns into a gladius? You see where I'm going with this?

I agree that if you don't have that ability I don't like your power will be vastly under-powered. But projectiles is also something bad - Someone shoots at you and you say "Ha Ha! You can't hit me since I used my vortex and now you're getting it in your face!".
This is also problematic. I know that you didn't want to be someone that teleports but you should consider this. It'll balance out this without making any game breaking additions.

Here's a question for everyone:

Are there any powers you wanted to add to your character but thought it made them overpowered. For me i wanted to give them the ability to use electromagnetism to cling to metal surfaces. And enhanced strength and agility. but it just seemed way overpowered.

Technically I could give my bloke superhuman strength. I could make him unstoppable, but that's just stupid.
If he is about to chase someone, he has a few options.
1- Run after him.
2- Shoot at him and hope that you'll hit (blood projectile.)
3- Tear your muscles in your chest and add muscle mass to the legs, allowing you to reach maximum speed. But the process takes time, the pain is staggering (In modern era users sometimes carry morphine to relieve the pain) and afterwards the chest muscles are a mess, so you'll need time to recover.

What I could have some with option 3 is make it simple, easy and painless. THAT would have been overpowering my character.
I was wondering if I would make a masochist character (non-sexual. Or...why the hell not?)

We've got eldritch abominations and electric blue hair, can't we just let it go? *Whimper*

I can decompose it too, though there's little need for Cartilage from my nose or ears, hair is useless and lack of skin on my face will be very troubling. I can sharpen my teeth and make then white like pearls using a toe or two.

I have a question for everyone:
1. apart from the GM who do you think could counter your powers the easiest?
Answer: The Langr, hands down. They utilize light as their primary weapon, I use darkness that weakens when in light.

nuba km said:
oh two more question:
1. who do you think has the weakest powers?
2. who do you think has the most practical powers for your day to day live?
Answer
1) Hard to say, everyone seems relatively good at what they can do, but the power that I think I could never end up using effectively would be Adam's animal transformations.

2)For me, hmm no clue, super strength and endurance would be handy.

Well I had two in mind that are too op

1) Black hole: The user would generate a singularity that would suck in all the surrounding light so that The Grimm could fight unimpeded. I'm still actually trying to find a way to incorporate this but it needs a big draw back.

2) Shadow meld: The user could merge with the shadow becoming incorporeal for about 10 minutes but when they entered light they would feel immense pain, perhaps even leading to their deaths.

Also my turn to pose a question.

Q. Who's power do you think best compliments you own?

also @SteakHeart Why don't you say that your bloodline has always been born with a defect that has needed to be remedied by mechanical means. But the saving grace of your bloodline has been that the phagocytes and lymphocytes in your blood have never recognized metal as a "foreign substance". allowing for the integration of mechanics without risk of infection or rejection.

From there just make it a tradition to upgrade one's self.

Let the boy think and fix his own problems by himself!
Yes, that's a good idea.

About the question...
I'm not sure. What would compliment the disgusting things I do to survive? Nothing.

Here are a few refinements.

Common Alias: Iron Scale Bloodline
B.C. - Spirit's Cursed/Spirit's Tyrant (Left arm/hand) (NE) (M)
"Spirit cursed? I'll show them what a true curse is..."
Roman - Cloud Runner (Legs/feet) (CN) (F)
"Dunblane to Abernethy in a day? You'd have to run o' the clouds themselves little missy."
Dark Ages - Demon Spawn of Aberdeen (head) (NN) (F)
"Aye, I wonce saw th' demon out there. Best stay away I'd say."
Renaissance - Angel Heart (chest) (CG) (M)
"Dear diary, Today we engaged the rebels. Should have been easy, but it wasn't. I swear I saw the leader take shot to the heart four times but he barely flinched. Orders are to attack again tomorrow. I'm scared."
WW - Claw Leader/Lady Claw (hands) (NG) (F)
"Ever seen a tank ripped apart with bare hands? Then don't park your tank in the Lady's way! AHAHAHAHA!"
Modern - Dragon Fist (right arm/hand) (CG) (M)
"..."

Power/Abilities: At about the age of puberty a section of the body grows hard scales from the skin completely covering that body part. Once about a month has passed The scales are full developed and almost totally indestructible. In addition the part changed becomes super strong, capable of incredible feats of strength.

Sections changed this way can also grow spines, claws, ridges or other abnormal features depending on the location. The growths are usually very hard as well.

Such individuals also have the rest of their bodies become stronger and tougher to support the scaled area. This level though is no where near as powerful as the scaled area. Wounds also tend to heal at faster then normal rates. Reactions and coordination tend to be fast as well. They can also jump with incredible force.

Extra notes: The coloration of the scales is not fixed and can even slowly change over the course of a life. The coloration is possibly affected by environmental conditions, but it's hard to know.

While the scales on a person are indestructible they are steadily molting and being replaced by new ones. Scales separated this way retain their incredible harness for up to 10 years before they begin to turn brittle and can survive for up to 200 years though their hardness deteriorates steadily over this time. Scales of a dead individual are similar.

The initial metamorphosis and emerging of scales is excruciatingly painful.

Common Features: F***ing scales man. How do you miss that? Also, amber colored eyes and red hair. Large appetites (high energy use and large numbers of minerals used). Greater muscle density and hard scales cause much higher then normal weight.

Obviously, all of this is subject to revision.

The Golem Family most likely. Sure I could knock them around a lot and block most of their counter attacks, but it's only a matter of time before they strike a vulnerable spot while not having any real vulnerabilities of their own.

Well I'm not sure this really counts but it's an interesting thought. See, organizationally I was going to have the super powered area always be the right arm from the shoulder down. Additionally I was going to have some kind of force projection extend out from the shoulder area. It wouldn't really be useful as an attack unto itself, but was basically going to be used for natural rocket propulsion to basically make a self-rocket punch type maneuver.

Question I've been wondering about: Hey DOR, have you thought about how your power negation will affect people like my characters who have permanent physical alterations rather then activated paranormals?

Ok I can live without having the vortex being two way portals. If I keep the vortexes one way only than would you be fine that nothing can enter the "out" vortex?
Example the user make the out vortex near a villain, before the user use his fist into the "in" vortex the villain spotted the out vortex and shoot in it. Normally if the vortexes were two way than the bullet would come out from the user end but since it's one way only, the bullet would bounce off when getting near the out vortec due to being the "out" vortex?

Another scenerio with certain loop holes to keeping the vortex appear from the user sight. Would you be fine if this scenerio happen (something I want to use depending if it is suitable to that scene and timeline).
The user is a starving child and saw a fruit stand in the market. The child got no money and it's impossible to steal because of the fruit shop owner. The child head around the corner so the owner can't see the child. The images of the fruit stand is fresh in the child mind which allow him/ her to make a vortex at the fruit stand and stole a fruit.
It's somewhat still acceptable that the out vortex was still near the child but he/she just didn't currently see it. It could be said the same problem if the user can make the out vortex behind him/ herself.
Granted the user can only do this only when the image of the surroundding is fresh in the user mind and it is near him/her e.g. would it be acceptable if user had left the room but use his vortex to grab something in the past room (yeah the user would be lazy like that instead or reentering it).
