Whatever sounds good. Heaven Shall Burn is my favorite, by far. Also Caliban, Deadlock, Brain Drill, Within The Ruins, Spit, Valley of the Dead and a bunch of others. Oh, and I just bought Avenged Sevenfold's new CD today...

Bloodbath is awesome. Probably one of my favorite bands.
You have no become even more awesome then you were. And you were pretty fucking awesome.
I was awesome before? I wish I would have known.
As head of the Black☆Rock Shooter and Vocaloid Fan Club. You are 3 different kinds of awesome.

Thrash, death, operatic, progressive, melodic, some nu, just not glam metal. *shudders* Currently on a "Another Black Day" and "Beneath the Sky" kick. But Metallica, as always, rocks. I am also really getting into DragonForce ATM and have been a fan of Nightwish for sometime. Other than that, if people look at me with a WTF expression as I drive by with my music blasting, then I probably like it.

Off-topic: How many people on this thread get asked: "How can you listen to that?" at least twice a day? And, is there a more annoying question?

I'll listen to anything that's heavy. Majority of the time it's Pantera or Lamb of God. Metal is the only music I like, that's what happens when your dad blasts Black Sabbath since you were born

I will never understand the appeal of Vocaloid.

OT: You're one of the few people I've encountered that have heard of Negură Bunget. I wasn't too fond of them, but they were okay.

My mother asks me constantly what I see in the music I listen to. I keep telling her I like the skillful playing, but all she focuses on are the lyrics.

Well I love them for the song Negrii,of the Zirnindu-Sa album. Why? Because it's about Icelandic folklore, and sung in Icelandic.Well some of it is.And I just like the overall feel of their songs.

Its just not metül, unless its brütal \m/,

In all seriousness...so long as it is loud and agressive and not repetitive drone.

Mostly Heavy Metal, Thrash/Speed Metal, and some Nu Metal. I mostly listen to mainstream metal bands. My favourites are:
Alice In Chains, Dio, Disturbed, Iron Maiden, Lordi, Judas Priest, KoRn, Motorhead, and Metallica.

Pfah, the lyrics are often well put together, poetically.

I'm not sure why I like metal in all of it's forms. I think Rob Halford put it best:

"Ten thousand lights come blazing down
With razor sharp precision
The speakers pour out molten steel
The beat gives double vision"

"Heavy Metal"-Judas Priest.

No, I think it's the fact that death metal lyrics are growled that she has issue with.

It should be mentioned (if it wasn't previously) that anyone looking to grasp a cold chunk of metal knowledge should rent/check out Sam Dunn's Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. TONS of interviews and info on genre's and sub genres.

As for me?
classic metal ? glam metal ? groove metal ? power metal ? speed metal ? funk metal ? thrash metal ? progressive metal ? alternative metal

Pantera, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Anthrax, Faith No More, Danzig, Kings X, Gwar, and even selloutica.

Ah, I get it. I've always figured that it just takes some time to enjoy and understand it. An acquired taste, if you would.

Indeed. I have actually gotten pretty good at said vocal style. Hurts your throat something awful after a while, though.

Just keep at it. Eventually, you'll find a way to do it that doesn't harm your throat in any way. I find it quite a comfy vocal style, myself. My throat always feels warm and fuzzy after an hour or so.
