Assassins Creed, became monotonous after the 2nd visit to each city, i could barely put up with all the repeatative seek this, do that missions, but slap onto it the same skins as the 1st levels no thank you.

Oblivion, Fallout 3 without guns, bleh, especially with my lack of patience.

Half Life 2, it was alright and interesting to begin with, but i felt every area dragged on alittle too long, and i always felt like it became more of a chore, before eventually the next set piece, section came in. episodes 1 and 2 are an exception, i enjoyed their pace.

The Sims 2 is monotonous...but it's also maddeningly addictive and eminently satisfying and I've never been quite able to explain to myself why beyond the joy of building stuff.

Tetris. It was so monotonous I played it for hours and hours and didn't notice. Bejeweled also falls into this category.

one who did not care for half life 2's story shouldn't be playing a game that is about the fucking story. no?
One who is frequently promised 'the best shooter evar' (what many have called it) has every right to be pissed at a second rate game.

Half Life 2's story wasn't even that interesting or well delievered anyway (evil aliens have taken over and prevented us from shagging, you are by far the most gullible revolutionary we have ever seen and for some reason a lab admin was given the authority to sell out the whole of mankind, there are more plot holes than this but I'll let you explain these ones first) so it's not that I don't care about a game's story (hell, I actually managed to make sense of Silent Hill), but if they insist on keeping me sat around for 5 minutes to be spoon fed my next objective then I think I have a valid arguement.

leveling up with a 5/5/1 or 5/5/5 scheme in oblivion is pretty soul destroyingly boring

Viking: Battle For Asgard.

Walk over here, beat shit up, walk over there, beat shit up in hope you find a precious item, walk back.

God, I don't even know why I finished it.

Aww, I liked that game.
Although I do admit, it is monotonous.
But it's the only repetitive game I've ever played for so long.
