Just last night I watched A recent Korean film called The Good, The Bad, and The Weird on Insta stream via Netflix. It was phenomenal in all aspects including but not limited to the gun fights, the camera work, and the suprising twist ending
I agree, that movie was amazing. :) Also, last night I watched an old Kurt Russell movie that I'd never seen before called "Breakdown" I was surprised at just how awesome it was.

The Dark Knight. Yeah... The last one i was blown away by.
Probably this. I could have also said the latest Toy Story, or Schindler's List, which I recently watched.

As for in theatres I was Blown away by Inception
I really wanted to see that (the good the bad and the weird) but it never came out on dvd around here. Although now that you've just sparked my memory of it I think I'll go order it online.
trust me when I say you won't likely regret it for the reasons I listed. Its just that good

most movies i see earn at most a "meh" or at worse a "....why the hell am i still here?"
However the only movies in recent years to me make me go "o_O damn that was good!" would be Tim Burton`s Alice and Wonderland and 9.
Actuall now that I think about it, 9 is the only movie i`ve seen to be hold in the coveted (in my mind) award for best movie ever.

Well, I had seen it before but i had forgotten how good it is. I watched Peter Jacksons king kong and I thought it was fantastic. A lot of people complain of the length, but personally that's part of the reason I love Peter Jacksons films so much.

Just as the title says what most recent film were you emotionally touched by, blown away by and/or astounded by?

Last night I finally got my chance to watch the much praised Let The Right One In and I personally thought it was an absolutely brilliant film. The relationship between Eli and Oskar is touching and the story, acting and music are all top notch. Definatly a great film and I'm going to buy the book soon after hearing about the more crazy twists online...

So what about you guys/gals?
A film I quite honestly doubt you've heard of: Bulworth. It's a political satire chronicling the development of the next great would-be black leader. The irony is he's a 60-year old, white, upper class U.S. Senator. How can he assume this role? Watch and find out. Trust me, it's worth it, if not for the message than at least for the laughs.

i remember hearing about the scott pilgrim film and zombieland a good few months before they were released and i couldn't wait to watch them, unfortunately i was too young for zombieland at the time but i got it on DVD and i still LOVE it and i went to see scott pilgrim twice at the cinemas and then ended up buying the books.

Inception would probably be the latest one for me but I've not seen it :( but i will be soon and i hope its as good as the hype suggests.

The Boondock Saints

Yes, I am serious.

Before you throw the high-ball glasses at me, some context:

I was royally depressed, and my friends put the movie on. I hadn't laughed that much in a long time. As a serious piece of cinema, it's borderline-junk food (even a bit pretentious).
But as long as you don't take it seriously, the movie is fucking awesome.

The best movie i have seen in a long time has to be Gran torino. But the one that has blown me away the most has to Harry Brown, it shocked me, especially at the start but it really did get me thinking about what is happening in today's world.

I was bowled over by Winter's Bone. It's indie, but it'll be on Netflicks soon so please, please check it out. I'll warn you, though, it's heavy.
