Just about last Wednesday we canceled our cable and got netflix. So we spent the rest of the week just watching movies.

The bad news is, we still haven't found a mind blowing movie. We found a lot of great movies, but not mind-blowing.
This thread will become my recommendation thread.

Well, there was a Turkish movie we watched called Bliss. Sad and beautiful. We watched it a few weeks ago. I loved the twist too. I should have seen it coming, but like a good twist, it smacks you right in the face, then everything makes sense.

Most recently... hmm... I watched a ton of great movies this last week. District 9 surprised me with its effectiveness more than any of them but Silence of the Lambs really took me for a ride and Frida was visually and atmospherically stunning. There are more, too.

However, The Fountain blew me away like no film ever has... yeah. Watch it.

I just really really really liked Inception.
Also, I always enjoy The Dark Knight...hm, pattern there?

EDIT: Just yesterday I saw "Escape from New York" and right then and there decided to get the DVD. Really enjoyed that one.

Most recent? Repo Men. Best EVAR? Fight Club.

And to the people of Inception, why? I thought it was just trying to be like the Matrix and it didn't really impress me.

Inception, and Splice before that. Awesomeness was superceded by Craziness, and Craziness gave way to Crazy-Awesome. Greatest Falling-Bus scene ever!

I just watched "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" a while ago. I had heard that it was a terrible 007 movie, and George Lazenby was a horrible Bond. My God, where they wrong! I loved every minute of it (although Lazenby was a bit wooden), and it might just have beaten out Goldfinger as my favorite James Bond movie.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya was the last film that blew me away... It was just exactly as I pictured it when I read the novel...

Not only that... But the whole experience of having seen it in a theater filled with fans of the series... It made me come to the realization that I may never experience anything as awesome as that ever again...

Its been a while... the last film I saw was "Sky Line" which shot straight to my top 5 worst movies of all time list, my word that film was a testical vice. Then again I saw "The Last Samurai" on TV last night so im fine now, FILM F'ING ROCKS (to Zelda key item chest discovery theme).

Well I saw Full Metal Jacket today, so I'm going to choose that. Damn, I should've watched it earlier.
